I had the lunch special, dessert, and coffee. It was cooked by a Thai woman who was born and raised in Thailand. She used some locally grown herbs, but the seeds for those herbs came from Thailand. Some of the other ingredients came from Thailand. The lunch special consisted of Fried Thai Spring Roll, soup (I chose Tom Yum but could have chosen the coconut one), Steamed Jasmine Rice, and main dish (I chose Chicken Green Curry but could have chosen Pad Thai, Beef Panang, Ginger Chicken, or Mixed Vegetables Stir-Fried Cashew Nut Chicken). The lunch special was $11.95 and tasted like the street food I remember eating in Thailand. That is what I wanted so I was very pleased. For dessert I had the Sweet Rice with Thai Custard ($4.95). I have never had it before but I will have it again. It was big enough for two BTW. To drink I had Thai Iced Tea ($2.95). The tea was cool and refreshing and it even came with a story. Apparently the recipe originated with the great grandpa of the cook who passed it down from generation to generation. There is a giant bat cave somewhere in Thailand and outside the cave you can buy the same tea from the cook’s mom who has been selling it there to tourists for four decades. The total including taxes was $21.64. Add the $5 tip and it cost me $26.64 out the door. I probably could have spent less had I ordered specific items off the menu and had I foregone the beverage and dessert. The restaurant is located inside a tiny old church in Port Royal, SC which is one of the oldest cities in the New World. As you walk in you will pass by many of the same kind of herbs that are used in the cooking. The decor is subtle. The atmosphere is casual and friendly: the cook was processing a bunch of just-picked Thai lemon grass two tables away from my own. They don’t have a liquor license but they allow you to BYOB. Parking is abundant and free. The men’s room was clean.

Fantastic little restaurant in a great location. Fresh ingredients grown on-site really make an obvious impact on the taste of the dishes I tried. Speedy take-out service but I will definitely return to eat in with friends as the atmosphere seems really great. Last but not least, great friendly service!
