I’ve gotten food here for many years, but always takeout. My dine-in experience was pretty good, but not great. I don’t feel I need to share specifics, because I like to give places the benefit of the doubt.
The food was really good and it was just so hard to decide with so many different vegan options to choose from! My friend and I decided on the tofu & eggplant in garlic sauce, general tso’s tofu, veggie lo mein, and edamame. It was all very good and I would definitely get takeout from here again in the future!

This restaurant is incredible! The food is exceptional and authentic as it gets. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are very friendly. There are so many unique options on the menu; I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of them. Sutao Cafe is a total gem for the area and is a must-try.

Today is March 8th 2026.
I was elated to find a vegan friendly buffet on my road trip. The restaurant was moderately busy at dinner time with immediate seating.

We were asked if we would like to do the buffet and we agreed and partook.

Two plates later and we were done. I was thinking it was a pretty solid deal for ~$24 per person. However it was $37 per person today. Nowhere is it mentioned which holiday pricing is being observed.

The options for today’s world holidays are Daylight Savings Time, International Women’s Day, any day that ends in Y, Ramadan (a month long observation)

I would like it to be explained before seating that holiday pricing is on as I am traveling on a budget and was not expecting to pay double what I thought.

The food was great, but not like $37 great. I have gotten some fine dining vegan meals for $37, I, and the rest of my party, didn’t even get a water refill.

I almost don’t feel like making this review. I just really think it should be more obvious which holidays are being observed.

Also adding that not all buffet items had labels for what they were. While mostly obvious, I just think it would help the place out to be more professional.

You will find some of the best vegan food on the East Coast at this restaurant. Sue is an extraordinary cook and makes the best ginger salad dressing you will ever taste. The buffet is served on Friday evenings, and Saturdays & Sundays for lunch and dinner. The selection is huge with many original dishes and will take many tastings to discover all the delicacies. For approximately $27 per person it is a bargain. It includes salads, soups and a multitude of appetizers and main courses as well as a dessert and you can order vegan ice cream as an additional item. If any dish is picked through or run out mention it to the servers and they will get the kitchen to refill. A slightly more expensive buffet is served on special holidays and occasions and has an assortment of very special dishes added to the regular buffet. There’s also an extensive a la carte menu and once again you may have to go many times to experience all the different wonderful options. Some highlights include the excellent corn chowder, tasty cumin ‘lamb’ skewers served on a stick, the sauteed string beans with garlic and chili peppers, and our favorite: A wide noodled lasagna with tofu, string beans and hot peppers. The service is fast. Take out is available, order online about 30 minutes ahead, can take longer on weekends. Parking is easy and free in the parking lot outside the restaurant.

This beautiful place is all vegan. And it’s a gem that you need to visit if ever you’re in the area. It’s all vegan and soooo delicious I think its number one in the country. Your tummy will be happy after the buffet. You’ll be in Vegan Heaven.

We have absolutely no problem paying a pretty penny for good food. We’re foodies. We love trying new places, and we’re more than happy to spend real money when the experience justifies it. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times.

$37 per person for a buffet should mean quality, freshness, and at the very least, food that’s actually hot. Instead, we paid $74 total for a spread of cold, over-salted, painfully mediocre dishes that felt like they’d been sitting out for far too long. When the best thing you can say about a buffet is “it was food,” that’s a problem.

For $37, I expect flavor, care, and proper temperature control—not dried-out trays of disappointment. The price point suggests a premium experience. The reality was something closer to a budget hotel continental breakfast that had given up.

It’s honestly baffling that they charge this much for what they’re serving. We left feeling ripped off and genuinely confused by the pricing. There are far better places to spend $74.

I really do not like leaving bad reviews. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. This however, was utterly ridiculous. Such a letdown. We won’t be back.

While visiting family in Philadelphia. we took the opportunity to dine together as a family (6 adults and 2 young children) at Su Tao! We were Introduced to it by church friends who were vegetarian when we lived in Mechanicsburg, PA. While the food was ok, I think the price of $37 per person for the buffet was absolutely too high. I suggest you ask about pricing BEFORE you dine! It’s definitely a small “mom and pop” operation. The place was very crowded when we arrived. The service was ok; but the guy (host) at the front was not especially hospitable!

Excellent vegetarian taste bud experience! The food was fresh, deliciously spicy, solid texture, and perfectly crispy. We had the cumin vegetarian lamb kabob, vegetable stew with vegetarian meatballs (add spicy chili oil), and spicy crispy orange vegetarian chicken. Topped off with vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very polite. Highly recommend!!!

Overall a good experience for those who want to try vegetarian chinese cuisine. I visited in the afternoon and, despite being in a large group there was no crowd, so we were easily accommodated. I started with hot & sour soup, which was more sour than I had expected. I then ordered a mockeel, which is crunchy mushrooms in a hot & sweet sauce. The sauce was lip smacking but some of the mushrooms were hard to crack and chew. Although the meal was fresh, I felt that the mushrooms may have been over-baked. For dessert, I had the vegan orange & vanilla ice cream and it was fantastic. However, I still prefer regular ice cream. The servers were friendly and provided excellent service.

My husband and I stopped here when we were in the area and the food did not dissapoint! We ordered the Hot and Sour Soup, Ban Ban Noodles, “Lamb” w/ Cumin Kabobs, and the Phoenix and Dragon Fly Together (Gen Taos’ Chick’n + Shrimp). Everything was great! We were a little sad that they no longer offer a buffet, but it’s okay – our server told us they only offer it on holidays.
There is so much variety on the menu and if you are having trouble choosing, like we did, the servers are great at recommending items. The atmosphere is a little lackluster but I understand restaurants, especially vegan establishments, are so much work to begin with. We will definitely be visiting again!
