delicious home made food here! there are so may vegan options as well, the staff is knowledgeable about veganism and was so friendly, thank you for making our day!

suggestion: you can use vegan meat or tofu as vegan protein alternative in your dishes as there was not a lot of vegan protein apart from the chickpea and lentils dish

we will definitely come back as we love their breakfast as well

One of the nicest Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. Food is so wholesome and light at the same time, great flavours and staff is so attentive.
Great vegan options (and some meals can be made onion and garlic free, very rare for an Indian restaurant!)
I will definitely be back!

We’re big foodies and moved down from London 4 years ago and were shocked at the poor quality of the Indian food in Bath. We tried everywhere and ended up having to drive to Bristol every time we wanted a good curry. …Until Susmita’s opened and not only is the food decent, it’s also not too expensive. If you want good Indian cuisine in Bath, go here.

I’m writing a review because it’s a bit out of the way and often quiet inside and I really really don’t want it to close down.

I was more enthusiastic about this restaurant from last couple of months especially looking at the authentic odiya dishes on their menu. However, the visit was getting deferred in view of distance from our place. Finally, we drove 3 hours yesterday for a dinner at this place . Its worth the effort. Being from Odisha, we got a very homely welcome and a personal guidance in selecting the food. I must say this place serves the best odiya cuisine. The starters like Chicken pakoda, chingudi chop and even paneer tikka reminded me the taste back home. Their most popular dish mansa kassa and even the macha tarkari were very authentic. U must try their innovative dish Chilli Baigana. The food was excellent. The ambience of the restaurant is also very pleasant. You can make out the hygiene conscience of the proprietors when you use the toilets and wash basins. Its a highly recommended place to visit.

We had a wonderful family dinner at Susmita’s in Bath, and it was truly a memorable experience for all three of us. The food was absolutely outstanding – authentic Odia cuisine full of rich, traditional flavours that are so hard to find outside India. Every dish tasted homemade, fresh, and beautifully balanced.

What made the evening even more special was the incredible hospitality. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout. They went above and beyond by offering us complimentary drinks and noodles for our daughter, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made her feel extra special.

Dining out with family can sometimes be stressful, but at Susmita’s we felt completely relaxed and looked after. If you’re looking for authentic Odia food and warm, genuine service in Bath, this is the place to visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

After countless trips to Bath over the years, I can’t believe I only just discovered Sushmita — and what a discovery it was! This place is an instant favourite and will now be a must-visit on every future trip.

They serve authentic Odia and Bengali food, and every single dish we tried was a comforting, flavourful delight. The Chingri Chop, Lollipop, and Mutton Kosha were all outstanding, prepared with so much heart. It’s honestly hard to pick a favourite because everything was just that good.

The ambience is simple yet so warm. It truly felt like stepping into someone’s home. And speaking of homely, Bineeta was the cherry on the cake. Her warmth, and genuine hospitality turned a great meal into a memorable experience. She was a one man army truly! ❤️

If you’re in Bath and craving something soulful, warm, and beautifully cooked — look no further. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves Odia/Bengali cuisine or just good food made with love.

Thank you, Sushmita, for such a lovely experience. See you again very soon!

Absolutely fantastic North Indian/Indo-Chinese food! The flavours were stupendous – rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. Portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity served. The restaurant was spotless, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. They offer various spice levels to suit all tastes and tolerances, which is a great touch. Service was top-notch – friendly, attentive, and efficient. Couldn’t fault a thing. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bath and craving proper Indo-Chinese cuisine!
They do offer South Indian dishes like Dosa, but we didn’t get to try them unfortunately.

Just returned to Bath to visit my father having moved to the Valencia region of Spain where the Indian cuisine is pretty sketchy!
The first thing I want whenever I pop back is a good curry.
Having seen their amazing reviews on trip advisor I thought I would try Susmitas out which was a new one to me.
Having arrived for the lunchtime sitting I was disappointed to find they were closed.
I gave the number a ring and my disappointment was quickly replaced with sheer joy as they opened just for me and I was presented with the tastiest Chicken Tikka Masala I have ever had. The chicken was really juicy and fresh and Depad looked after me always with a big friendly smile.
It’s a family run business and with it’s unique take on Indian cuisine deserves & warrants all the local support it can get.
I will be coming back all the way from Valencia so I hope you all appreciate having such a great Indian restaurant in your doorstep!
