It was my first visit and I loved the calm and nice atmosphere. I think it’s a great place to come with friends or with your lover. The place was clean and the staff was nice to me. Most importantly, the food tasted great. It left a lasting impression on me and I think I will come here often in the future.
Especially the tempura was very crispy, so I ordered more.
I really enjoyed the poke salad as an appetizer, and needless to say, the other rolls were great.

I don’t recommend it. They don’t use fresh salmon, it seems to be defrosted, the hand roll is poorly made, and my husband said it was the worst he’s ever tasted. The yakisoba tastes like it’s made with pre-made seasoning. Furthermore, they serve tap water. They don’t sell bottled mineral water, which is ridiculous for a restaurant that charges such high prices for bad food. This restaurant is great for anyone who has little to no experience with good Japanese food.

Sushiya is my new favorite sushi spot in town! Service is always top notch – I request for Anthony to serve me every time. He is always so accommodating and attentive. The sushi I order always comes out consistent and tastes delicious every time. They also have hand rolls, which is unique to any sushi restaurant here in Wichita. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. This place deserves more recognition! Try out Sushiya when you have the chance – you won’t regret it!

The other day, on a whim, I decided to stop somewhere I’ve stopped once before. That place is Sushiya. I’ll admit, there are far better places to get sushi. I ended up coming to Sushiya because honestly, I was close to Old Town Square, and Sushi sounded like a good idea at the time. I ordered the Crunch roll, spicy tuna, and California combo meal. There really wasn’t anything memorable about any of the rolls I ordered. But I enjoyed the crunch roll the most. The spicy tuna I guess was spicy? And the California roll was bland to say the least. Everything was decent., but like I said, nothing memorable.

Got our drinks, and then got our appetizers. But the appetizers were not fully cooked. Then waited over an hour just be told they only had one cook and that our food wasn’t ready and want close to coming out. Didn’t even offer to discount our half cooked appetizers or apologize for having us wait an hour for nothing. That’s enough for me to make the decision to not go back here. Wasabi has a few locations and their food is always great and never encountered the type of service we did here.

I was lucky to stumble into this amazing restaurant on its opening night. Absolutely delicious, prices were extremely reasonable. I had vegetable tempura, Sakura roll, and sake. So full! They do not skimp on portions, and the fresh fish in the roll was generous. Angie is a wonderful server. Everyone is friendly. Please check out this great restaurant!
