Yasu Tanaka is my favorite sushi. The quality is out of this world. I love coming here for lunch so much and it’s always so fresh. The fish literally melts in your mouth. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

Food here was excellent. I got the omakase, salmon sushi, and ube soybean ice cream. The hand roll and omakase selection were fresh and fantastic with each fish having its unique texture and flavor highlighted. The salmon was excellent. Nice fatty and smooth cuts of salmon with a couple being charred to add some more layers of flavor. Ice cream was amazing. The complimentary flavors of ube and soybean was a great mix of umami, salty, and sweet. Atmosphere is an inconspicuous food hall which the main staff for this restaurant being the sushi chefs.

Michelin recommended AND glowing reviews?! I can see why! This sushi was fantastic! Excellent cuts of fish, super fresh and tasty. Decently priced omakase and fast service. Never would’ve expected this quality from a food hall.

Yasu Tanaka is, for me, the best sushi spot in Miami. The quality is absolutely amazing, and I love everything about it — definitely a must-try for sushi lovers!

I can see why this is recommended by the MICHELIN Guide. Sushi Yasu Tanaka is located in MIA Market in Miami’s Design District. They were not very busy when I went for an early light lunch on a Sunday. I had the chopped hamachi and negi sauce hand roll, one piece of the salmon nigiri and one piece of the akami sashimi. Food was served very quickly after I ordered. I could not fault it. I have been to Japan and this was top-quality sushi. Freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend.

The gold dust on top of the ice cream, purple sweet potatoe paste over green tea, was amazing! The nigiri was also great!
There were outdoor swings to relax on.

Ridiculously good for a food court location; “Michelin 2025” on the wall speaks to that! Better than a lot of restaurants I’ve been to in the US.
Very respectable fish list; not wildly extensive but some great choices of a variety of bluefin tuna, shima aji, kinmedai, uni, etc. All nicely put together.
Your order comes out quick. Easy recommendation if you’re in the area, or passing between the airport and Mid Beach. Totally would stop by again.

Don’t get me wrong the sushi here is delicious but it is very pricey for MIA market. I came by for a quick lunch, just 2 hand rolls and my bill was around $28 I think. Wasn’t expecting it to be that much but I had been wanting to try it. There’s so many sushi options available not sure if I’d come back here specifically. Quality is great though!

Sushi Yasu Tanaka is located within the MIA market in the Design District. The MIA market should do a better job at cleaning and keeping a better ambiance in general, while this place looked much better a few years ago, it’s just another food hall or a mall food court today, it’s not in par with the designer stores just a few steps away from it. Once you enter, it smells to fabuloso cleaner, no kidding. This is not Sushi Yasu Tanaka’s fault, it’s all on MIA market.
As for the sushi, I loved the quality, freshness and flavors of this nigiri selection as well as the presentation. However, this is not a truly omakase, it’s just a sample plate. There is a different between omakase and a random selection of a la carte nigiris.
Price was alright, not the cheapest, nor the most expensive either. I would say it was ok.
