The food was really delicious and we could tell the fish was super fresh and high quality.

However I would not recommend going there to eat, you will have your food faster if you pick it up.
We booked a table for 7pm and asked for a table in front of the chef. We had our main dish at 8:30pm, and the restaurant was closing at 9pm. Because of our places, we were able to see that the priority was clearly the pick up orders, and orders received after us were a priority. Even to have the sashimis, we waited 45mn, just to see the chef grabbing pieces of fish and putting them on a plate in less than 2mn. Really really disappointed by their priority management.

We loved the sushis but we will not be coming back.

If you are looking to get great sushi, no nonsense and no small chit chat from its wait staff, this is the place for you. The place is jam packed with patrons when we got there on a weekend at 6 p.m. The smart thing to do is make reservations ahead of time and you can access that through their web site. No reservations would result in a long wait.
We were seated immediately when we got in on the dot. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. We opted to add the extra add-on to the entree for an additional $9.00. The add-on menu comes with a salad of your choice, an appetizer of your choice, and dessert after your entree is served.
The sunomono salad is lovely and the miso soup is silky and delicious. We tried the agedashi tofu, the vegetable tempura, and the croquette. We had initially wanted to try the pork and shrimp spring roll but they were sold out. Not disappointing as the other appetizers are delicious and in generous portions.
The chirashi bowls are beautifully presented and the selection of fish is very fresh. The sushi platter is also very nicely displayed and scrumptious.
We ended our meals with ice-cream.
Definitely worth another visit since the food quality is wonderful. The wait staff could be a tad friendlier but understandable that they just want the customers to just eat and go. Go check them out.

This cozy restaurant offers an authentic Japanese dining experience that’s truly unmatched. Every dish is a masterpiece and amazingly fresh, bursting with flavor. Having been here several times, it never disappoints. The quality of the food is outstanding, and the prices are more than fair for what you get.

There’s also plenty of free parking, which makes it even more convenient. I highly recommend trying the chawan mushi soup, the black cod, and the sashimi.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for consistently delivering such a delightful experience. If you’re craving Japanese food, this resto is a must-visit!

The waitress was not happy because we arrived 8 minutes before our reservation, even though the table was available. The food was average, nothing to write home about. The combo served had a lot of vegetables (fried sweet potato, cucumber, avocado), some of the Makis were too big, hard to fit in the mouth, with almost no space to chew. The calamari was a bit rubbery, pale and greasy. Chicken Karaage was good. It wasn’t a horrible experience but it’s also not a place I’ll return to or recommend to anyone.

I don’t know maybe we went there very late night, raw fish pieces in maki were not fresh at all.

We ordered appetizer as well cuz we were starving, but appetizer came out with main dish and both took so long.

Sushi rice was not balanced at all. Too much vinegar. If you know Japanese sushi, vinegar amount in sushi is the most important thing when we decide if the place is good or not.

Our expectation was too high bcz of good reviews and bcz we saw chefs are Japanese.

A casual and family-friendly eatery in the south shore, one of our rotating restaurants for years.
They offer an full array of authentic Japanese dishes ranged from the comforting udon katsu to the refined elegance of nigiri. In addition to an extensive list of Entrées from cold/fried/grilled/baked, the succulent Rimouski Uni and the flavorsome Alaska snow crab have lately made theirs ways to the chalkboard menu.
Since the new owner/chef has taken over, the service has seen remarkable improvement and has even undergone a partial redecoration recently. At last, the awkward black leather tablecloths have been removed and those uncomfortable round chairs have been replaced.
While the new owner’s culinary skills are still evolving and have yet to match those of his predecessor, the food remains quite enjoyable and satisfying.

Fantastic restaurant that I have been to countless times. Each and every time, the food was delicious and the service was friendly both during lunch times and dinner times. The food does get pricey for dinner, especially if you plan to only eat sushi, but I believe the quality is worth the price. Lunch time is a lot more affordable and still offers a decent selection.

Hands down the best, most authentic Japanese fare in or around Montreal. The karaage in particular is so tender and juicy; 1000/10! The staff are also really lovely! We’ll definitely be back to try some more of their delicious offerings!

Wanted to try the katsu curry and I wouldn’t recommended it, at least not the porc. The only thing that saves this dishe was the rice and curry itself. The porc was overcooked and really hars to chew and the breadcrumbs wasn’t staying on the meat.

Sushi Yasu left much to be desired. The service lacked empathy and felt cold, making the whole experience unwelcoming, rushing our orders just making us feel like we gotta finish it asap. Food quality was average at best, nothing stood out or justified the hype.
The combo promised and didn’t deliver the flavours and mix, just plain rice and veggiess someone who truly supports local businesses, it’s disappointing to say I won’t be returning. It simply doesn’t earn more than 3 stars in my book.
