This was an incredible food experience. We came in for a late lunch and sat at the bar after seeing a review in the 225. This is a tiny hole in that wall used to be a sandwich shop. Now it’s a bare bones one-man sushi spot. The owner was super friendly and shared a bit about his experience running the restaurant—just figuring things out as he goes, always experimenting. It takes a few minutes to get your food, but the attention to detail is high and the flavor combinations were really good. We got the sweet potato roll, the sweet and spicy salmon, and the kamikaze rolls. Go try this place. Keep it open! Skip ordering from waiter.

Vegetable spring rolls and Vegetable tempura plate were great. Fried rice had plenty of egg and vegetables and the rice was nice and soft. California rolls and sweet potato rolls were excellent. ALL the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Place is small…about 8 2person bar stool tables. Chef Jared is chef, waiter, and owner. Must be patient but it is well worth it. Will definitely be back!

Sushi Yamanuha has become one of my go-to sushi spots. I’ve only ordered from Waitr, but I really need to go in and sit down. The prices are reasonable with good quality fish and excellent presentation. Some of the ingredients in the rolls normally aren’t my favorite, but I gave them a try and was impressed with the combination. The flavors and textures blend perfectly. Some of my favorites are the American Naruto roll, shrimp tempura deluxe, and Kamikaze. I also like to get the Nigiri plate. Keep up the good work!

We ordered the Tsunami Roll, Steak and Shrimp Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Deluxe Roll. Possibly the best quality sushi in Baton Rouge. So fantastic we had to order more! We’ll be back!

Don’t waist your money. Was a waiter order. sushi wasn’t to great. Had the hardest avacado I ever eaten. The most firm tuna I’ve seen. The rice around the roll was very loose. Better sushi from grocery store.. also took 2 hours to get food.

affordable sushi that’s also fresh! I love this place, and it’s definitely become my go to spot in east baton rouge. It’s like the only sushi place on airline which was barren of sushi before! Chef Jared is actually Japanese which is crazy in louisiana, not knocking vietnamese sushi but I feel like japanese people have this authentic feel. Thank Jared!!!
