First time trying sushi ya I orderd ahead on their website it was so quick and food was warm and flavourful I got the deep fried crazy boy roll, edamame and miso and everything was so good!!! The restaurant was clean and the payment was super easy and fast, prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back!

Five Stars – A Nourishing, Soulful Experience at Sushi Ya
I was recently invited to dine at Sushi Ya, and I must say — it was a deeply appreciated and memorable experience.
From the moment we sat down, everything felt gracious, welcoming, and genuinely heartfelt.
I ordered the beef udon soup, and it was exceptional. The broth was rich, flavorful, and soothing — clearly crafted with care. There was a generous portion of tender beef, and the ingredients were fresh and well-balanced. It was the kind of dish that quietly restores you.
The sushi selections were abundant and beautifully presented. While I wasn’t the one placing the order, I was able to sample several kinds, and each was delicious.
What stood out even more was a handmade gift from the chef himself — two custom-prepared sushi pieces for everyone at the table. A quiet gesture, but one that spoke volumes.
It turns out the chef is connected to the community through a shared faith — and it showed in both the food and the spirit of the service.
The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and peaceful. You can feel the care that goes into the details — not just in the kitchen, but in how you’re treated as a guest.
I left with leftovers, a full heart, and sincere gratitude.
Thank you, Sushi Ya, for a meal that nourished more than just the body. I look forward to returning.

Our favorite sushi place. My boyfriend and I will recommend this to our friends. The quality of sushi is way better compared to other sushi restaurants in Victoria. We tried a lot of sushi restaurants, but this is the best so far. It’s worth the money and quality, friendly service and good atmosphere as well. Plus the parking is free. Our favorites are the Hawaiian roll, deluxe sashimi, and kani.

The food there is fantastic. One of the best sushi I have tried. I tried Caterpillar R, Oahu Salmon and Special Sashimi. I noticed that the cooks and servers were Japanese, so the food was very authentic. I would recommend to everyone to go and try their food.

Went at noon on a Thursday. Three of us. Friendly and efficient service. We all had the Bento box lunches and they were significant and delicious. Miso soup is very good as well. Sushi was fresh and generous. Surprised this place isn’t packed every day. There were other tables filled, but lots of room. I’ll be back. Forgot to take pictures, which is unfortunate.

We went there for lunch today (Jan 7, 2026). Amazing. I had the Bento Box B, my friend the Bento Box C. So much food!!!! With green tea and a coke the bill came to less than $50!!! Excellent Value. Super friendly staff. Will definitely be going back there.

Amazing food and staff. Highly recommended getting the Bento box during their lunch time special 15 dollars for a huge plate. The sashimi was amazing also.

I order 3 orders of your sockeye salmon sashimi and it’s BLOWSSSSS all the other restaurants away charging 2 pieces of fish for 8.50 each is just ridiculous prices.
This is high quality fish they are serving at Sushi Ya. I will continue to order my sashimi from here, hopefully u guys become big enough that I can order at later hours in the night. Usually get a mad craving around 11pm and forced to order from downtown restraunts like Nubo, cause nothing is open late in Langford for sushi.
