I can’t believe I just discovered such an amazing Japanese restaurant near my home! The sashimi melts in your mouth, and every ingredient is incredibly fresh—my taste buds were overjoyed. The friendly chef enthusiastically and patiently explained the preparation and ingredient choices behind each dish. It wasn’t just a delicious meal, it was also an educational experience. Absolutely fantastic dining experience!

This is a beautiful restaurant right on Franklin Avenue. Plenty of parking in the back. I have to say I haven’t been coming here over 10 years that this is the single best chicken fried rice that I’ve ever had! A lot of locals come here all the time and it’s highly recommended for excellent sushi And hibachi. Give it a try.

I simply cannot rate Sushi Ya Garden City highly enough. We live in Delaware and it is our favorite sushi place because nothing in Delaware measures up. Kelly and Eric the owners are fantastic, and everything they make is devine. The quality and selection of sushi and sashimi is outstanding. The little touches like fresh wasabi (as opposed to the usual little green ball) are excellent. The pineapple fried rice served in a half pineapple shell are to die for. Hibachi is available. Simply in ambiance, service, and quality there is simply no place that is better. Give yourself a treat and spend some time here.

If I didn’t know the sushi chef, I might have walked away at the door. This restaurant looked old from outside and dark inside. My children actually questioned did we go to the correct restaurant because i am quite picky?
The food was fresh as usual from the chef I knew. The waiter and waitress were friendly. The owner was very friendly too. It was a good dinner with my family.

These people are liars. Specifically the Asian older lady. She lied to me and my friend about something so petty and told us to walk around in the cold. If she’s lying about a door being opened, I wouldn’t trust them to manage my food

A very nice sushi place. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The special rolls were unique and the prices were amazing for lunch. I highly reccomemd the Anthony roll, it was delicious and I never had anything like it before anywhere. If you find yourself in the garden city Mineola area and want some sushi this would be a good choice.

Cravings called for sushi on a Friday afternoon. (In hindsight, maybe not the best of idea to have raw fish on a hot sweltering day) Went into an empty restaurant and promptly greeted. Ordered the sushi lunch special which came with small salad and miso soup. The salad was cold and refreshing on a day like today. The miso soup also was good, with added bits of bean sprouts, which I’ve never had in miso soup before. The sushi came with six tiny rolls with tuna and it was fair. The seaweed taste was perfect. The 7 pieces of sushi was nothing I’d remember. If at all, it tasted fishy, which usually means it’s not fresh. Deduct two stars for that. The other star was deducted because of sticky floors. I hate sticky floors.
