I usually order a bento at this restaurant. Korean food is also offered on the menu. Best value is on lunch menu where prices are less. Bento box teriyaki chicken came with miso soup which didn’t have any tofu. Salad could use more dressing. Overall, food was delicious, service was friendly.

The first thing you nice is how pretty the restaurant is. Window seats to private booths. Attentive service and a wide ranging menue. My friend was able to have her dietary accommodations promptly met. Service was discreet and attentive.

We visited as a group of 8, and our server, made the entire experience amazing. He was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding, which made our time at the restaurant warm and enjoyable. The dishes he recommended were exactly what we were looking for, and we were all really impressed.
I mentioned that I’m celiac, and he took great care to make sure everything was safe for me. He was very knowledgeable about the procedures and ingredients, which made us feel secure about what we were eating. His reassurance allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal without any worry. We will definetly be back!

Fantastic. Ordered for take out. There was no skimping on the soya sauce, napkins, Wasabi or ginger. That is very refreshing. I would order from Sushi Wood again just for that fact. But, the food. Oh my god. The chirashi donburi was a huge helping and delishes. The monkey Brain (deep fried avacado) is now going to be my go to dish. Umatilla bomb! I’m really impressed overall. Very pleased. Thank you!

I was in Nelson for the holidays when I stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown. I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be the best sushi I have ever had in my life. Their calamari was crispy and delicious, and the soup warmed me up in the cold weather. I highly recommend this place; the service was top-notch.

Called ahead, they informed me they have protocols for allergies and even asked if the gluten allergy was celiac disease (which I am celiac). When arrived, the waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu. Informed me they prepare it separately to avoid cross contamination. I wasn’t very hungry so just had a couple maki rolls but she did inform me any roll with tempura can be sub with bowled yam or plan shrimp. They even have tamari!!
Very happy, very impressed.

The food was a little over salty. The shrimp tempura was really good, except the one piece ( out of 8 ) that was cold. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. And the price was what I expected.

Me and the wife went for lunch and we shared the OMG and we each had a pint of beer . The beer came in a very frosted mug which was a pleasant surprise. The sushi roll itself was very tasty. The problem for us was the cleanliness of the place . The floor was very dirty , we can see lots of dust and the bathroom was very unclean . The table felt sticky and even the soy sauce container was very grimy. Looking around you can see all the staff on their phones and not really paying attention to the customers or even care about the place . Never used to be like this, hopefully they get it together. For now , we will go elsewhere.

Quaint little sushi restaurant, with fresh and delicious rolls! The staff are always pleasant and the “sushi fridge” for when you’re in a rush on lunch break is the bomb. Definitely recommend.

This is the most down-to-earth sushi restaurant in Nelson. The food is delicious, the service is super-friendly, and the dining area is spacious. I never feel crowded when I eat there no matter how full the restaurant is. I highly recommend the agadashi tofu as an appetizer!
