Very affordable, I got the premium set. They use too much wasabi and few toppings so there’s very little flavor variety with each of the courses. There are other omakase’s at the same price point that I like more.

Incredible experience at such an affordable price. Staff were super accommodating, the atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, while the sushi was perfectly timed to savor the flavor yet keep the experience fun and fast.
The fish was incredibly fresh. I’m very particular about the freshness of fish and can detect it very well, and this was as fresh as one can get (especially at dinner)!
The activities while eating keep conversations fun and friendly. Highly recommend a visit, solo or with others!
I’d recommend this as a Michelin Bib Gourmet!

A must visit every time for me in New York! It’s my 4th visit and I love it every time. Excellent food and service, they were understanding when part of our party was late to the reservation due to travel delays and tried their best to accommodate. They even gave me tea and crackers while waiting for my friends! Gratuity is included in the price (like how they do it in Japan) which is surprisingly refreshing and touching for NYC. The value is unbeatable for omakase and definitely a must try if you like sushi and want to try an authentic and quality omakase experience without breaking the bank.

Met up with some friends here. The food was excellent and made right in front of us, which was fun. The price seemed reasonable, and there was an option to reorder any pieces you particularly enjoyed (we did not). My one gripe is the speed. They seem to be fully booked at one hour intervals, so you might feel a bit rushed: the first sushi piece was on our plates before we had properly sat down! Would definitely recommend to fans of fast-paced dining.

Lovely Omakase sitting! The owner is incredibly hospitable and guides you through each bite of the meal. A delicious abundance of ginger too, would absolutely recommend

Amazing deal – $38 lunch omakase (tip included), and the food is delicious. We arrived early. The staff was nice enough to let us in and provide drinks on a hot summer day. Strongly recommend!!

My day started off great. I planned to try two omakase and just came from Tsumo and had a great time. When we went to sushi w the quality of food and service was just terrible in comparison. The ingredients were not fresh and the handling of the sushi was poor. The ingredients were stored right next to the bathroom and the place wasnt clean. The sushi pieces that were being prepared were questionable (from the same bowl that they took the marinated tuna, the chef picked out the top 2 pieces to throw in the trash). I was eating with someone else and noticed none of the pieces were consistent in terms of portion and quality. The cuts were different sizes and other had a mountain of rice. Everything felt rushed and it was just an awful experience. The worst dish was the ikura marinade in cheap sake. The chef hands you a piece of nori and a clump of rice as he puts a random scoop of ikura with a pool of sake that tastes like an oyster shot. This is the first time i left an omakase with food left over. Save yourself the trip and avoid this spot. It feels like I’ve been cheated with the price and experience. I wouldn’t come back.

lovely omakase experience — very affordable and simple but full of charm. the staff are kind and efficient and the owner is more than happy to explain the each piece. clearly a labor of love!
I’ve been here many times and everything is remarkably consistent from quality to timing. highly recommend to all but especially to people who are new to omakase due to the excellent pricing and warmth of the staff (no hoity toity energy here). I’ve introduced many people to this location but it’s been exciting to watch them expand to other parts of manhattan — if it’s run by the same owner, I have no doubt that they are also excellent!

ABBA’s songs greeted us as we walked in on a cold January evening for my daughter’s birthday – Cozy and welcoming. The fish selection and quality was just worth every penny. Our chef Zeng was professional and pleasant, preparing every piece with care and devotion. Overall experience was just over the top. We ordered a bottle of Hakkaisan sake for perfect pairing. Reasonably priced omakase is definitely an invitation to come back for more. Our annual ritual used to be Mermaid Inn. We now have found a second chapter to continue our birthday tadition.

This was by far the best sushi and best omakase we ever had. Better than in Japan. The owner and entire staff take such great care of this place and ensure that everything is clean and to everyone’s satisfaction. They also explain every course and use the freshest and simply best ingredients. The chefs are doing a superb job. The atmosphere is calming, the setting very nice and each course was simply AMAZING.
