Casual Japanese spot with an all-you-can-eat lunch & dinner menu chock-full of sushi & such.

Came with a group of 9 at a relatively peak time (Friday 7pm) and we were able to get a table within 5 minutes. Did all-you-can-eat and were pleasantly surprised with the selection of apps, rolls, and nigiri that were available on the AYCE menu. The sushi was good (high rice to fish ratio, but that’s expected on an AYCE menu). Great value at $31.99 per person before tax/tip.
More importantly, the service was exceptional. We ordered A LOT of sushi, and despite the fact that the chefs understandably took awhile to make our orders, they let us place one last order after their last call cutoff time (8:30pm). The young waiter (Andy, I believe) was extremely nice and attentive, and he’d always communicate when different parts of our order were taking longer than expected.
One note on parking: we found it very difficult to find parking on the street at that time. There is a small lot behind the restaurant, and we got lucky as someone was just pulling out.
Overall, would definitely return if we’re ever back in the area!

The sushi was excellent and the staff was very friendly. However, for the price they charge, I would expect that the service be a bit more attentive. They also don’t offer any discount for military/vets, which is very common these days among competitors. So, overall, great experience, that with a couple of minor improvements would be 5 stars.

This is the first time I have ever ordered sushi by myself. I ordered a carry out meal with a side of yellowtail roll. I asked for a yellowtail roll she asked if I wanted nigiri I said yes because I though that was the name of the roll. Again I am not sushi versed, so I didn’t know. I understand I misunderstood but when I called and tried to explain they transferred me to three separate people and acted like I was an idiot for my mistake. The waitress was also laughing in the background. The food might be good but the service was less than admirable.

Arrived with a friend at 5pm on a Monday. Based on the amount of customers who arrived after us, I highly recommend getting there early! It filled up fast, even the server said it was unusual but he had a great attitude the whole time. The food was plentiful and quite tasty with a wide variety available. After, we tried the red-bean mochi what subtly sweet and was the perfect complement to sushi. It was not cheap, we paid just under $100 for the meal with soft drinks and the dessert however it’s sushi and I think that’s pretty standard these days. If you’re in the Golden/Lakewood area and just gotta have some raw fish, I highly recommend it!

I was pleasantly surprised that the Sushi was very good. The Staff was attentive and nice. The only thing I didn’t like was the Golden Roll. It was supposed to have a Tempura batter but it was heavy and doughy. I’m hoping I’ll have a 5 star experience the next visit!

I was staying close by for a work trip and decided to treat myself to a solo sushi trip. I had read the reviews, and all were positive except for the parking. They weren’t lying! Parking could be a real problem, but after a few trips around the block, a spot opened up in the small back lot. But let me tell you, it was well worth the wait! I sat at the sushi bar and ordered the cucumber sunomono, chef’s choice Nigiri, and an unfiltered Nigori. Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff was extremely attentive, and I saved room for some mochi for dessert. I will most definitely be returning on my next work trip!

Enjoyed a beautiful evening, on their patio, of all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi. Menu is limited for AYCE but the offerings are not cheap or cheesy. Rolls included shrimp, salmon eel, crab (kani), tuna, and tempura options. All were great.
Mom&Pop size and style restaurant. Service staff were quite attentive, efficient and made no mistakes with the multiple-roll orders.
Definitely retuning soon!

The food here outmatches the spot. The value you get at Sushi Upkura is phenomenal. Finally a sushi place that does a great job and doesn’t break the bank. The service matched the value. Great place – I’ll be back.

Awesome secret sushi place. Off the beaten path and kinda hidden by beautiful landscaping. Feels familial and intimate, and their sushi chefs know what they are doing. So happy we found Uokura! We prefer sashimi, and they crush it here, but had to share this roll pic. Beautiful and delicious! Thank you chef JoJo!
