The miso soup was the best miso soup I’ve ever tasted and my favorite part!! Literally to die for!! So hearty, flavorful, and wholesome. It was full of umaminess. The sushi was good too, but not the best! The food took a bit of time to come, since it gets a bit busy, but overall good customer service, and cute clean interior as well.

Service was pretty good. I arrived a bit late to join my party. They were already seated and served drinks. I was not offered to order a drink and had to ask for water. The waitress was pretty hands-off, which I appreciated but was available when called. We had sushi/sashimi and miso soup for appetizer. The food was just okay and a bit on the pricier side. They had cool, Japanese rooms where you take your shoes off and sit around a low table. We didn’t eat at these tables, but they looked like really neat experience.

We love the food here, it’s fresh and it’s very good. The thing is the service is bad! We have given this place a few changes and just went we thing the service is getting getting better they go back to being bad. I would understand if the place was really busy but it’s not and that’s the problem I have. Most of the time there’s 5 people standing at the front desk instead of attending to the customers. So needless to say, we will not be back, which is sad.

Went in for a Monday Dinner date, we were seated quickly but it took half an hour to take our order, and another 40 minutes for our food to come when we were waiting the server blamed the kitchen for our food twice, the first time when my partner went to the bathroom and I was alone and the second time when they brought out the rolls and the Crunchy roll that we ordered came out as a Godzilla roll. We ordered one coke and one Sprite, and they were flat and left a weird texture in our mouths. We mentioned the incorrect roll to our server, who then had the kitchen fix it. At this point, we had noticed several tables being apologized for the amount of waiting time and orders being incorrect. On a hunch, we looked at reviews for this place and noticed that many of the low score reviews reflected the same issues we experienced. We were unsatisfied with our experience, so we asked for the check and left. We noticed our server, who had been missing most of the time, was hovering near our table. When we left the restaurant, the server attempted to insult us for not being more generous. Please don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews. You may notice that they are from local guides and not more ordinary people like you. Save yourself 100 dollars.

Delicious Sushi in downtown Glen Ellyn, can’t say it’s one of the best I’ve had but it was pretty good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant had good ambience with great decor.

It’s very hard to find good restaurants in the western suburbs, especially sushi. This place is about as good as grocery store sushi. Way over the top with the mayo and the condiments. Nice staff tho.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last evening at Sushi Ukai. We were brought there by my partner’s son and were able to snatch a seat in the outdoor area in front of the restaurant. Our server Alyssa was just fantastic. So engaging, pleasant and knowledgeable. Everything from the bento box to the sushi,nagari, maki and tempura was top notch. Our 3 year diner made a beeline to visit the robot server used inside .Definitely looking for a return visit.
