I gave this place a 4/5 for food because their food is decently priced and usually pretty good! It depends on the day, but that’s true with any restaurant. I gave them a 3/5 for service (this was being generous). I go here a lot with my boyfriend over the past 4 years. They used to have amazing service, the best waiters/waitress. They recently hired new personnel. Not happy about it. There is a specific person which I will not name because I do think people should try this place, however under her management, our food comes late, she’s not nice, our all you can eat menu is always 20-30 minutes late after we’ve eaten the first portion. Also our amazing waiter is now cooking sushi instead of serving everytime we come. Definitely try the place, but don’t be surprised if you don’t like it based on this review.

The sushi rice kept falling apart, and the soy sauce was watered down, which is unacceptable for such a basic ingredient. They also charge $1.90 for each leftover piece of sushi, which feels unreasonable. This place has gone through multiple owners, and the current one seems focused on cutting costs rather than maintaining quality. Wouldn’t come back again.

Sushi Totoro, all things considered, does a really good job. From what I’ve seen over years of going here, most people are doing all-u-can-eat, and the kitchen is working fast all the time. Very rarely have we had any concerns with service and if we did, its because they are just all working hard. The bathroom could definitely use a little better caring for, but that aside, we plan to continue going here for years to come! Great place to go if very hungry, or if you have friends in town.

The absolute bang for your buck and we love that they don’t charge crazy for kids like some other Japanese AYCE restaurants. They offer great variety of appetizers, my favorites were the miso ramen! The AYCE includes the special rolls, we loved the Totoro Rolls and Spider Rolls! Service was friendly and fast ❤️

Japanese food and this is our first time since moving from california, food taste nice, you can do either buffet style with out sashimi or you can order ala cart and 10 years old kid already considered as adult count (really???do they earn money already). But so far we love the food and the taste of the food only.

The all you can eat was great. Cold Asahi, great servers, some of the rice was a little dry but still giving them 5 stars.

I have eaten at this place many times over the past 10 years or so. I used to know most of the staff and all of the chefs. I saw the establishment change ownership and all the staff. I love the hot sake most of all the other sushi places I have been to. The rolls, to the best of my knowledge were good. This last visit however was my last. My girlfriend and I went, sat, ordered drinks then ordered food. Drank our beers and hot sake. Ordered and drank a second hot sake, 3 other tables were sat, ordered and received their ordered and a second order and we had not received our 3 rolls. We waitied for almost an hour and still no food. Ended up paying for the drinks and left. Not saying its race motivated but its worth noting that all the other people that were sat and fed before us were of asian descent. Again, not sure if that was the reason. Just saying.

We have been going to Sushi Totoro for almost 2 years, and it is my ride or die! This is our go-to takeout, sit-down, or all you can eat sushi place in the entire city. The all you can eat menu has so many options, and its always consistent. 10/10

The food was decent for all you can eat. Tho the soy sauce is watered down and we didn’t get what we ordered.

The restaurant is cute and has a good vibe for sure.

Before I say this i want to note it was busy ish. The place was not as busy as some of the other AYCE places in the area and by no means packed.

I think I know why.

The service was terrible, it took quite a while for our food to get to our table. The waitress never once came by to refill our drinks our appetizers were cold when they did arrive and the second round of sushi was not what we ordered and was oddly warm.

Honestly this place shouldn’t be AYCE. You can tell they are pretty concerned about cost. Or just don’t like bigger people. I did notice others were getting better service.

My wife and I frequent sushi often and it’s a shame I don’t think we will be returning.

We just moved to this side of town and Tortoro is my new favorite sushi spot! The all you can eat prices are great but it’s the fun names for their specialty rolls, the Tortoro centered design and the staff that lock it in. Our server treated us like friends and made us laugh. Love it!!!

My girlfriend especially loved that they have both squid and octopus on the menu, a lot of places have just one and are limited in how you can order it.
