This is the best sushi I’ve ever eaten! Beautiful and delicious. I chose halibut ( because I have allergic reactions to the red fish) so everyone sushi for me was +$3. Not bad! It’s really tasty!
But I have to be honest, the portions are really small. That why you have to take 2-3 sets and pay extra money, $60-100.

Easily one of the very best sushi places I have been to here or in Japan. We went for a birthday dinner and chose the Omakase (option 2). It was an incredibly well balanced meal including many of our favorites. The quality is just perfect. Temperature, freshness, taste, everything from the fish to the rice, toppings and soy sauce.

The service is super good, such a friendly staff. chefs and owner. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

I did not know I needed a reservation but they were able to seat me. Delicious fresh sushi, courteous waitresses, very warm atmosphere. Worth every penny. I was underdressed for the occasion but it did matter. If your in the Universal studios area, this is a must for all you sushi lovers. Sorry lighting was dim for the picstures, trust me on this place.

An excellent culinary experience that truly made me remember my time in Japan last year. The food was beyond delicious, service quick and professional, and the ambiance was like a nice restaurant that I visited in Tokyo or Kyoto. Portions are typical Japanese, not massive American monstrosities, so keep in mind to order a few things to share with a date and enjoy the tasting experience. Overall a 10/10! Highly recommend and I will definitely be visiting again.

This is place is 100% authentic Japanese. With that said, for the majority of you expecting a typical sushi/Japanese restaurant, this is not the place. There is are no noodle dishes or bento boxes of the sort. About 90% of their menu is strictly sushi/sashimi and are very fresh (ie., melt in your mouth type). Thus, prices reflect the type of quality they serve. To give you some perspective, we, a family of four (wife, son (13), daughter (9) and me) had dinner w sushi (pics shown) and hot tea and two desserts for $250.

There’s a plethora of fantastic sushi spots in Studio City but this probably is up there in terms of quality, flavor, and overall experience.

There is a parking lot with limited seating otherwise you’ll have to find street parking. Service was friendly and quick.

Started off with your standard edamame and their spicy tuna crispy rice which was excellent and one of the better ones I’ve had. My favorite though was the cut roll that we got. It was a 10 piece roll that came with two side by side sauces. I think it was the dragon roll but not sure. It was probably the best custom roll I’ve ever had. Both sauces were divine and you didn’t need soy.

Would highly recommend and book a reservation.

They have an extensive sake selection as well.

From the moment we stepped into Sushi Tomoki, we were greeted with a warm welcome that set the stage for what would become an unforgettable dining experience. The modern interior and vibrant atmosphere perfectly complemented the culinary journey that awaited us.

We opted for the Omakase UME No 1 ($80) and were treated to a meticulously crafted progression of courses. The experience began with exquisite Akame Toro sashimi that simply melted in our mouths – the freshness was remarkable! This was followed by 10 pieces of expertly prepared sushi, each piece showcasing the chef’s dedication to quality and technique.

The hand roll was a particular standout – perfectly crisp nori wrapped around warm rice and the freshest fish. The meal was complemented by a soothing miso soup that provided a wonderful balance to the rich flavors of the sushi.

The seared salmon roll with truffle was an unexpected highlight – the delicate sear enhancing the buttery salmon while the truffle added a luxurious earthiness that elevated the entire dish.

To accompany our meal, we enjoyed Asahi on draft – crisp, refreshing, and the perfect partner to the delicate flavors of the fish.

Just when we thought the experience couldn’t get any better, dessert arrived and absolutely made our night! A divine mixture of lychee and yuzu ice cream served with green tea mochi provided the perfect sweet finale to our meal.

The restaurant was buzzing with other diners clearly enjoying their meals as much as we were, creating a lively yet intimate atmosphere.

If you’re looking for an authentic, high-quality omakase experience that delivers on every level, Sushi Tomoki is a must-visit. The attention to detail, quality of ingredients, and warm service make this place truly special.

Don’t forget to make a resy!
