Sushi Tomi did a great job catering for my work event for 40 people.
Sushi: 14 types of nigiri (12-15 each), 4 regular rolls (7 each), 14 insideout rolls (5-7 each).
Appetizers (8 each): wakame (seaweed salad), vegetable tempura, chicken karaage, deep fried gyoza.
Everyone was very impressed by the quality of the food — very fresh and wonderfully prepared. Oishii!
The food was arranged nicely in large pans for buffet style. They were very helpful in labeling each pan as veg, vegan, gluten and gluten free. They provided ample soy sauce, tamari (GF), tempura sauce, gyoza sauce, wasabi, ginger, and chopsticks.
I worked with Tak on this large order. He was very helpful and accommodating. He had to have his chefs come to work 2 hours early to prepare the large order for pickup at 11:30am. Tak and his friendly staff helped me load all the food into my car.
I highly recommend catering from Sushi Tomi. Thanks Tak!

Had a fantastic dinner at Tomi Sushi in downtown Mountain View! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, dragon roll, and a salmon teriyaki dinner, each dish was spot on. The salmon teriyaki was perfectly grilled with a delicious glaze, and the sushi rolls were fresh and well-balanced. The miso soup and rice rounded out the meal perfectly. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and great quality all around. Definitely a local favorite worth returning to!

We visit Tomi a lot. Most recently I tried their extra special nigiri and really loved it! The raw shrimp and Uni nigiri’s were very fresh and sweet. Super fatty tuna melted in my mouth. Also loved the eel.

This restaurant seems to have people lining up often so we had high expectations. I eat nigiri and american style rolls often in the bay area and some nigiri in Tokyo, so I have some sense of what good sushi is like. The cut of nigiri here is aesthetically uneven, which would be ok if the cut was good. To me it didn’t taste especially good quality. We both felt the items we got were very average and not worth the price… if you are particular about sushi I’d skip this spot.
The tomi special roll was the only thing I liked

I ordered the special nigiri sushi set and the caterpillar roll for takeout. I liked that the nigiri had less rice, and the fish was fresh. The caterpillar roll seemed to aim for a clean flavor, but with very little sauce on the eel, it tasted a bit bland and unfinished. Overall, it’s one of the better spots I’ve tried in the South Bay, and I’d probably go back.

The quality is definitely top-notch, but the variety of sushi rolls is a bit limited, and the plate presentation could be improved. We went on a Sunday evening around 6:30 PM and only waited about 5 minutes, even though there’s usually a line.

A solid restaurant for sushi and other Japanese food in a casual setting. We have been coming here for sushi for the last 15 years. We got there before 11:30am on a Sunday and were seated immediately, but there were people waiting outside after noon. Their sushi and sashimi selection was excellent as usual. The sets come with miso soup, a salad, and a bowl of white rice. The pork katsudon rice bowl was delicious as well. It happened to be on Mother’s Day and they thoughtfully brought out some carnations for the moms at each table. The price is quite reasonable given the high-quality of food they serve. Overall it is a great experience.

Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in all of South Bay for casual nigiri and sushi rolls. All of the sashimi are so consistently fresh and high quality. The salmon pieces are so thick and amazing. The uni was so flavorful and tasted like the ocean (in a good way). Everything was super great value for the price too!
My fiance and I came at 5:30pm on a Friday and were able to get a table immediately, we barely beat the dinner rush because by the time we finished ordering, the storefront started getting crowded with people waiting for a spot.
The service is okay, friendly but not super attentive. Our server essentially only came by for us to order and then drop off the check at the end. But she did give really good menu suggestions.

Great sushi quality.
Sabe in particular was delicious.
Uni was a bit diappointing, but all other sushi was tasty.
