went for solo dinner on a monday night and it was a fantastic experience sitting at the counter. i ordered the premium set of 5 handrolls, which came with an appetizer as well. each roll felt so thoughtfully crafted, and the ingredients were so fresh. the rolls were delicious. it’s hard to pick a favorite roll, but i especially loved the salmon, toro, and scallop rolls. my server and the chef were so kind and attentive – the chef even made an extra spicy salmon roll on the house for me. definitely very excited to bring friends and revisit next time i’m in town!

Visited Sushiro for the second time last night, and it’s hands down the best quality sushi I’ve had in New York (and I’ve lived here for 11 years). I never thought I’d say this, but there was almost too much fish on my handroll — I mean that in the best way possible! The portions are generous, and the flavor and texture are unmatched! There are good sushi places out there, but this is the best.
Must orders:
– Sashimi, seaweed appetizer or miso soup
– My top rolls: Shrimp, Snow Crab, Toro, Spicy Salmon, Kampachi
If it’s your first visit, I recommend ordering the Premium or the Classic, although the Sushiro Omakase – Chef’s Choice is my favorite. They’re also very accommodating, you can substitute rolls if you have dietary restrictions.
The chefs wear gloves, desert is always a surprise and the service is 10/10. The food is honestly 20/10.
One thing to note: it’s a small, cozy space and it can get loud depending on the crowd. Next time, I’ll definitely try sitting at the bar. I highly recommend making a reservation because they do not have a walk-in waiting area.

my all time favorite sushi bar. Everything from the service to the food is chefs kiss. the portions are huge and the quality of the fish is so fresh. Unfortunately, I found this place so late in life but I never miss a chance to go back. I moved out of state just half a year after finding this spot so I can’t go back as much as I would like but I ALWAYS make a reservation whenever I’m back in the city and I always bring new friends. I love this place and if you’re finding it for the first time, I welcome you to the best spot on earth. <3

Absolutely delicious sushi restaurant! Each roll was unique and tasted amazing – the service is also stellar. My gluten allergy was easily accommodated and I could enjoy each course without anything being left out – it was truly a wonderful lunch. Sitting at the bar was fun and watching each roll be crafted by the chefs was so fun – everything was extremely fresh and perfectly portioned! Fantastic high-quality dining. We split the chef special and thoroughly enjoyed each piece. Reservation ahead of time, booth/chair seat seating was slightly tight. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, great experience and food. Service was fantastic. Everything was clean. They were very organized. It was nice sitting at the counter watching the chefs make the rules. They followed adjustment instructions, such as less rice very nicely. We ended up going back two days later because the food was so fresh and excellent. The sushi chefs recognized and acknowledged us. Even though they were so so busy, they pay attention to their customers which is admirable. I would go back any day just for the great fresh food, but the people also make it so very special too.

I had an excellent dinner at Sushi Tokoro. The miso soup was the best I’ve ever had; rich & flavorful with tasty chunks of leek. Every single one of the five hand rolls that I ordered was absolutely scrumptious, and carefully crafted right in front of me. The atmosphere was serene; I loved the soft piano jazz playlist and the refined and cohesive design language of the decor. Highly recommended for an upscale, modern take on sushi.

What an amazing hand roll spot! It was our first time and we got reservations to sit at the bar. Service was beyond outstanding from the servers to the sushi chefs. Food left us speechless in the best way possible. The yuzu soda was delicious. Prices were reasonable and we will definitely come back when we visit the city again!!
