The AYCE had a lot of options which was good. But the quality was mediocre at best. Stale rice with very thin fish for the Nigiri, and small portions of fish in their specialty rolls. Their appetizers are mainly fried using a very thick batter that’s more carnival food than Japanese. I did enjoy the grilled Hamachi collar but even that was bland and dry with no accompanying sauce or lemon (unless specifically requested). For $33 I’d much prefer getting two decent specialty rolls elsewhere.
Granted it was a busy Monday night, but our waitress seemed to have forgotten our table. We spent two hours there and 70% of that was probably either waiting for our orders to be taken or waiting for the food. We only ordered twice as a group of 2.
Atmosphere was nice and the decor was great. However the food is definitely subpar for a Chicago sushi restaurant.

It was our first time trying this sushi restaurant and it did not disappoint! We walked in right at 12 for lunch and were the first customers of the day. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Great experience overall — definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend

This place was absolutely delicious. It had great fresh sushi and very kind wait staff. Our whole group did the all you can eat menu and everything we had was fantastic.

My server was Paulo. From the moment I walked by myself because being obese requires many solo dinners. I was seated immediately. Wow. This guy place really lives up to its reputation. The best all you can eat. I loved the baked oysters. Quick service. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. I couldn’t finish it all. They gave me a nice Togo box and bag.
I will definitely be back. Keep up the great work. You deserve the success.

The server couldn’t have been Kinder and we were seated right away. Sushi taku is pretty much always packed.
I think a big part of it is that their prices are generally reasonable. I would not say that this is the best sushi I’ve ever had. Nothing was bad but just regular sushi. The standout dish for me was the salmon salad. It was basically chopped fresh salmon with spicy mayo served over seaweed salad. That was a great dish and only $5.

I recommend sushi taku. Great food and sushi selection for the ayce. Had the Sunny roll too but I don’t like it as much as the nigiri. I personally really enjoyed the white tuna nigiri. Loved trying the variety of fish. The sushi rice was also delicious

Amazing sushi. Great options for sushi, appetizers, and dessert. $35 for AYCE. Staff was super helpful with walking us through the dining process and were understanding when we didn’t like one of the rolls we had ordered.

Super fresh, fast service and fun atmosphere. This place is popular and for great reason. I love the Wicker Park area and this sushi spot is worth the wait! I will definitely be back again ✨

All you can eat sushi for a fairly solid price. Service is friendly and fast, but the dishes can be a bit hit or miss quality wise, but that’s to be expected for an all you can eat spot.
Still worth your time for the value.

I love this place. It was excellent, reasonably priced for all you can eat, and the food was good too. From all the rolls, one of my favorites is Godzilla. The only downside is that I wanted to try fried oysters, but I only had two pieces instead of four because I was kind of full and not sure I was going to like them, but they can not do it I don’t know why.
