Here for their soft opening, we decided to try this revolving sushi bar. There was some selections on the belt, and there was also a tablet that you could order from as well. The fish tasted clean and fresh and didn’t have a strange fishy smell. The atmosphere was nice and had friendly waiters, though they only came to collect plates and didn’t check if we needed water refilled. We sat towards the end of the conveyor belt, and there were quite a few empty plates. Luckily ordering from the tablet was convenient because the food from there came out fairly quickly and was made fresh.

The ordering system is not user-friendly because it doesn’t indicate which items have already been delivered, making multiple orders confusing. Many dishes were overloaded with truffle oil, which felt more like a gimmick than an upgrade—it ended up tasting cheap instead of refined.

We tried the new Revolving Sushi place at the Yes Plaza in Rowland Heights. The previous business was Jiou Chu Dumplings and now it’s changed to Sushi Rev. We tried it on last Friday at around 5:30 p.m. It’s still pretty new so I recommend go there earlier because you may need to wait too long or unable to find parking spaces in that busy plaza. We did not need to wait and they greet us immediately when we walked in. The ambiance of Sushi Rev is modern and it has welcoming atmosphere and I like their interior of the restaurant. Our server was T.P., he was friendly and service was attentive. Each sushi on the conveyor belt cost $3.75 each. Our server came collecting some plates once we finished and he counted for us and told us how many dishes we had so far. We had total 30 dishes and we finished it at 6 p.m.! Yes, we spent only 30 minutes and we had 30 dishes because they were so delicious. We had a few Truffle Seaweed Tuna, Ikura, Ebi Tempura, Truffle Salmon, Strawberry Unagi and other 23 conveyor belt plates. Great quality. We can’t wait to go back there soon. 5 stars- Sushi Rev!

I had a pretty uncomfortable experience at this
sushi restaurant. The server kept coming over about every five minutes to ask us questions, and the whole time she was looking us up and down in a way that felt really intrusive. At one point she even took away our soy sauce and wasabi while we were still eating, which was really strange.

Later I went to the restroom, and when I came back my girlfriend told me she had been forced to pay the bill even though she hadn’t finished eating yet, and she was made to wait outside the restaurant for me. When it was time to pay, the server stood there staring directly at the payment screen the entire time, as if she was making sure the tip was big enough. The whole situation felt very uncomfortable and unnecessary.

I’m usually pretty skeptical of conveyor belt sushi, but this new spot surprised me. Prices are very fair and the fish quality was better than expected. I only ordered items made in the kitchen and didn’t grab anything from the belt.

Standouts:
Truffle Yellowtail – 4/5 ($3.75)
Seared Scallop – 4/5 ($3.75)
Truffle Seaweed Tuna – 4/5 ($3.75)
Truffle Seaweed Salmon – 4/5 ($3.75)
Truffle Salmon – 4/5 ($3.75)
Salmon Carpaccio – 4/5 ($5.75)
Unagi w/ Strawberry – 4.5/5 ($3.75) Interesting combo and worth trying
Toro Sushi – 4.5/5 ($5 for 2 pieces) Surprisingly good quality for the price
Seared Salmon – 4.5/5 ($3.75) Wow

Just okay:
Tamago w/ Strawberry – 3.5/5 ($2.75)
Sweet Shrimp – 3/5 ($4.75) Where’s the fried shrimp head?
Ikura – 2/5 ($4.75) My son usually loves ikura but didn’t like this one

Conveyor belt sushi spots often start strong when they first open, then the quality drops over time. Hopefully this place keeps it up.
