A good sushi place, fun environment. Service is about average. I eat at a lot of sushi places, however Nara wasn’t extraordinarily better, but was almost double the price. That’s my biggest complaint, but I still go every once in a while. Only sushi I’ve had in Oxford, but way too pricey to eat regularly.

One of the best restaurants in Oxford. If you love sushi this is a place to go. The food can be expensive but it makes sense since it is sushi. The service has always been good and it is in a cool location inside a house far up from uptown. The inside is nice. The walls are painted really nice, and it has a really nice calm feeling.

The restaurant itself is interesting; it’s actually an old mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Great saki – if you’ve never had it served warm before I’d recommend the “small” size.
Sushi portions are good for the price (~$9-16 for most).
Overall a good place to eat. Meal for 2 people with appetizers will run about 30-$40 dollars.

Roach ran across sushi bar while eating.
Manager gave me my meal on the house and very apologetic!
Sushi is awesome! Staff very pleasant Establishment is in an old house… it happens. I would not hesitate to visit again.

The decor could definitely use an update, but it’s a friendly comforting space, with very good staff, and clean. The Sushi had wonderfully fresh fish and ingredients. It was a quiet and delightful evening.

Sushi Nara did not live up to ANY expectations. They had terrible customer service and I did not enjoy the sushi. I will never return and would advise anyone to do the same. A very unprofessional atmosphere and not that cleaniest restaurant I have ever visited. Over priced! not worth your time or money. If I could give them zero stars I would.

The tuna was old, the sauce tasted entirely like mayonnaise, and the iced tea was TERRIBLE. I’ve been eating sushi for nearly 10 years and I haven’t had an experience this bad. I almost never write reviews but I’ll write Sushi Nara one just to spite them. Don’t get the spicy tuna roll or the volcano roll.

The manager (Matt) is rude to workers and costumer, in my experience there he is just a mean guy. I really hope his boss see this and deal with the way he treats people because It ruined my experience to see his disrespect towards me, other workers and costumers. I am vary disappointed. I heard good things about Sushi Nara but the bad service me and other costumes got was unexceptionable. I will not be coming back, if I could I’d rate 0 stars.. the only good thing is the food but the service I got there was the horrible and it hasn’t changed I gave it one more shot to see if it was a bad day or something and yet again it bad service and Matt was being very disrespectful again to other workers hmm I’m very disappointed…

The food is really good in my opinion but that’s operating with the understanding that it’s a sushi place in the middle of nowhere Ohio with no fresh fish. My biggest gripe is that if you are not drinking alcohol you will likely be neglected by your server. Also they charge you for club soda which is on tap and free most other places.

Would only recommend regular rolls. Even then the basic rolls are only worth the purchase on 1/2 off nights. The double dragon was over fried and awful. The fried tempura roll was also the same. Service was okay. Not good I will not be back.
