Came back here after a few years and had a good experience. Came for dinner and was seated immediately. We got edamame and seaweed salad as apps along with the firecracker (sushi app). Those all came out and were delicious. We really enjoyed the crispy tuna app (firecracker)! I would definitely get this again. Our server was great and checked on us frequently and mad sure to refill our drinks. We order a few sushi rolls and it was all 10/10! We came on a Tuesday night so it was 50% off rolls as a daily special. Would highly recommend this place for sushi. Prices were very reasonable and there was plenty of parking even at dinner time.

Decent place to eat. Sushi rolls were very good along with the lettuce wrap. Sesame chicken was good and not too sweet. The person that had the seaweed salad thought it was good. The triple crown was too sweet and the sweetness overpowered the meal. Service was OK and the atmosphere was fine but nothing special. Plenty of parking at the back of the building, but you have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the entrance of the restaurant.

Enjoying a girls day out we stumbled upon this hidden gem. Menu was quite overwhelming, but the food was great! Will be back!

On May 8th, our group was seated outdoors to accommodate our size. While the culinary offerings proved satisfactory, the service efficiency could be improved. Specifically, several members of our party experienced a delay in receiving their beverages, and the appetizers were presented concurrently with the main courses.

Notwithstanding these service-related observations, the sushi merits particular commendation. Notably, the establishment features compelling “buy one, get one free” sushi special on Thursdays, which I would recommend patrons consider. The “Flaming”, was noteworthy Sushi, with the inclusion of hot Cheetos providing a distinctive and enjoyable textural element and the duck buns are a good appetizer.

In conclusion, while the overall experience was positive, future visits might be best directed towards the bar area, potentially offering more expeditious service.

Restaurants with massive menus try to overachieve and always under deliver and this place was no exception.

The apps was decent but that’s just the start

I ordered the lemongrass beef, but it was overwhelmingly sweet—closer to a dessert than a main dish. The sauce was thick and syrupy, completely overpowering any savory or lemongrass notes. I managed to eat the vegetables and beef, but couldn’t finish the rest.

The sushi was topped with steak, which arrived nearly raw. We asked if it could be cooked a bit more, and it came back almost immediately—burnt, including the rice….

Overall, the meal lacked everything good about a sushi / Asian restaurant. This was one of the most disappointing “Asian” cuisine experiences I’ve had in Durham. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The sushi was excellent. I would highly recommend this place if you haven’t been. We also got the orange chicken with rice very good. The only thing I would say is the chicken could be a little more crispy and crunchy. Just a personal preference.

the place was pretty clean it just seems a little outdated. Maybe recommend a renovation soon.

I recently visited this sushi spot with a friend and tried a range of dishes, from sushi and tempura to dumplings and cocktails. The overall experience was a bit mixed—some real highlights on the menu, but the service definitely needs improvement.

We started with cocktails, and they were exceptional. The pear and ginger tini was crisp and refreshing, the plum and guava cocktail was delightfully fruity without being too sweet, and the passion tini had a lovely tart finish. These alone made the visit worthwhile. The dumplings were also a standout—perfectly cooked, savory, and satisfying.

As for the sushi, it was good overall, though not all rolls were created equal. The lobster roll was a little bland and underwhelming, especially considering how rich lobster can be. The kiwi crab roll, on the other hand, was unexpected and absolutely delicious—a great balance of sweet and savory. The vegetable roll, featuring asparagus, was also very good and fresh-tasting.

The tempura was probably the weakest dish of the night. While the vegetables were cooked properly, the batter was too greasy, which weighed the dish down.

The biggest disappointment was the service. After we finished eating, we lingered over cocktails, but no one came to clear our table. Dirty dishes and trash remained, and our waters were never refilled. It felt like we were forgotten.

Despite that, I’d consider giving this place another try—the drinks and dumplings deserve it. Hopefully, with better service, the next visit will feel more polished.

The staff are kind, attentive and the food is amazing!!! The price is unbeatable, and the sushi rolls are ALL buy one get one free every day of the week! The owner Jane is also very kind and knows how to run her business efficiently. There’s literally nothing bad I can say about this place. The drink selection is great too.

Food was amazing and outweighed the two issues I personally had while dining it. Read through to see both and how to avoid one, at least!

We were sat quickly and greeted by our server quickly. He brought out waters within a minute of our seating. My friend ordered a plate, I ordered 2 sushi rolls and an app to share.

The wontons were amazing. Not your typical short-order fried wonton, there was actually crab visible and present in both bites for every wonton. And pretty apparent its not just a simple cream cheese and crab meat, they were quite tasty and worth getting. The wontons came out within 5-6 minutes, which gave us plenty of time to finish before lunch arrived.

My food (as pictured) was fantastic. Plating was even top notch, but all tasted fresh and we both were very satisfied.

I recommend against a booth seat. No matter the size of human sitting behind you, the booths are very cheap and flimsy. The slightest movement from the person being you will jolt you in your seat. I am ~245lb, and a ~120 female sitting behind me was moving me as I sat still. Not her fault! But very annoying and really took away from the experience. I recommend sitting at a regular table or the sushi bar.

It was also FREEZING inside the restaurant. Granted on this day the high was around 43° with gusts up to 20mph or so, but I felt only relief from the bitter wind by coming inside. My fingers felt frozen by the time we got done eating.

Our waiter was very mobile and aware, we had to ask for nothing. He was very efficient, so his service along with the quality of the food both outweighed being cold and being bounced around in the booth.

We will come back, definitely to the bar or a table though!

Our servers very kind but We were sitting in the sushi bar all delicious, the only flaw that scared us was that a sushi chef started screaming I guess someone from behind and got us out of the mood, that was Sunday! Then we go again on Thursday for dinner, everything is so good that we love Cupid’s flower roll and the salmon avocado with cucumber, but again the sushi chefs keep looking at us up and down, we don’t feel comfortable.
