Originally came in for sushi but decided to try the ramen, without a doubt a great decision. Wife and I both finished our ramen bowls and full of flavor and absolutely filling maybe a bit too much onion but not overpowering. Staff is friendly and attentive. Gets quite full quickly but overall great food and experience

Yummm so good. Ordered sake toro salmon and it was beautiful. I am always nervous about raw seafood from landlocked areas but they are so fresh and delicious here. Good service, too–depending on how busy they are you can be in and out in 20-30 min.

I felt like they were doing us a favor by seating us, taking our order, serving the food, refilling water. No smiles, no thank you’s. We had to ask to be seated, even though I was standing right in front of the waitress. I had to call her over to order even though I kept staring at her like I was ready to order. She literally threw our food on the table and left abruptly. We ordered an extra roll after finishing the few we had. Not only didn’t anyone clear old plates, the waitress literally put the plate with new roll ON TOP of a plate we had already finished. I had to ask for water refills even though the next table was getting their water refilled. Yes, they were busy and yes, the waitress looked like the only one serving. There were 2 gentlemen that came to fill our water glasses when I asked. I would have been a bit more understanding of the staff shortage if the waitress wasn’t incredibly unpleasant! I dont remember experiencing such a rude and unpleasant waitress. Oh yeah, the food. Quality was good but portions got much smaller (5 piece rolls?).

Sushi was good, staff was attentive. I smashed my California roll before I could even take a picture.

The food was not bad…If you don’t know what Japanese food is. This place doesn’t know if it it’s Chinese or Japanese. The menus consist of too many things.
The rolls were tiny and so westernized. The udon came as just plain broth and noodles. What a shame.

I ordered sushi and asked to have it wrapped in cucumber. Server never mentioned the 6$ upcharge, which also shorted me 2 pieces. I was supposed to have 6 and ended up with 4. Asked about it, and the owner simply wouldn’t give me the time of day. Threw the menu and gave me an unpleasant conversation, and told me never to come back. I was shell shocked, mistreated, and disrespected, all for asking about my bill. Maybe she had a bad day but never expected her to flip out like that. Be careful.

The best place for sushi in Highland Park. Incredible choices and flavorful dishes. Wonderful staff especially later in the evening when your food choices seem limited. The service is impeccable as is the food. I only review The Best of the Best. Don’t think about it, just go eat here. Trust me, it’ll be the best decision you made in a long time. Follow me, I’ll keep you well fed. Share and like.

Very quaint and authentic environment in a nice part of town. Highland park roll was nice, as well as the different Don’s. Plum wine was pleasant and prices were fair. Nice regional variant of traditional Japanese food.

Sushi Kushi offers an excellent Japanese restaurant experience. The quality of all the food is superb and very consistent. The ambiance is also great – a perfect environment for casual dining fit for any occasion such as a family dinner or date. The restaurant also offers a good mix between contemporary and traditional menu items all at an affordable price. I would highly recommend it.

This place is by far the most authentic Japanese food and sushi spot outside of downtown Chicago. Their selection of fresh sushi and sashimi has never disappointed and the preparation is always consistent and delicious. After having eaten here more than 50 times ( I live a block away ) I can say it has *never* disappointed. Their attention to customer experience and willingness to accommodate any special order is seldom found in north shore restaurants. There is a reason that sushi spots in Highland Park have come and gone and this place has remained for years.. it’s because they care. Their owner is there every day because he wants to ensure the best possible experience for his patrons.
