I’ve eaten at this chain before and really enjoyed the food, so I was looking forward to it. My server was the best thing about the experience he was attentive, traditional and friendly. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and spring rolls, the portions were super tiny, the rice seems old and the vegetables were onions and broccoli… which usually you get cabbage.. the spring rolls felt empty but were decent. I ended up paying $40 including tip for the food and drink and it was way over priced. You should have a choice if you can’t go do the buffet option or just an entree and the portions should be dished out depending on that. I wouldn’t go here again and I wouldn’t suggest this place as an option.

Just had an amazing meal at Sushi King. The food was on point and the place had such a cool, relaxed vibe. It had been a while since my last visit after I moved, and it’s a really pleasant surprise to see all the changes they’ve made.

I only give such a low rating because the environment of this restaurant is abysmal at best. The floor was sticks through out and the tables and walls had sauce splatter on most of the booths. The bathroom looked like a full on brawl happened. Water everywhere, stall doors hanging on for their life, no proper lighting. (as seen in photo)
The bathroom door had a slimy film over the while thing. I didn’t feel safe touching it, but how else was I supposed to get out of that nightmare? Anyways, our waiter was amazing despite the overall cleanliness of the restaurant so the staff definitely makes up for the lack of corporate taking care of the place.
The sushi wasn’t great, barely any filling in most of the rolls I ordered. The hibachi was good. Overall would never go back to this place. If you care about your health, I’d advise you don’t either.

Dirty, nasty. Had the pleasure of getting someone’s hair in my lunch. Called as soon as I opened the bag and noticed it. The manager decided to argue stating that nobody there has red hair and he is not going to do anything. Offered to send photos to no avail. I spend so much money here just to get disregarded and disrespected over their poor practices. Will be escalating to the health department. There is no telling what else is in the food.

My boyfriend was excited to take me here for dinner because I have never been. I must say, I have never met such a cold hostess in my life, Destiny. She saw us waiting for a hostess as she walked past. Did not say hi. She appeared to be completely miserable. We all have bad days but dang. She made me not want revisit because when we were seated, she took our drink order and said ok… I ordered a mix drink. She neglected to inform us that they did not serve liquor, I found that to be extremely rude. Nor did she offer a drink menu or come back to tell us the drink I ordered would never be served.
Dinner was not busy for a Saturday evening. The decor is modern and the place was clean.
It was disappointing that the salad bar was not open nor the ice cream machine. Unfortunately, it seems that their prices have gone up $5 but offer less.

Regardless, the food we ordered came out hot and fresh and we have no complaints on any of that. Our server was being trained and doing excellent. Both of them were very nice and attentive. I would like to try the one in Newport News.

We had great service and food was decent. My only complaint is how dirty and outdated the bathrooms were. TP everywhere, mirrors were dirty. The paper towels were sitting on the sink where the water was getting splashed and soap was in just a regular bottle.

The decor is a little outdated but that’s the only criticism I have for this place. The all you can eat lunch is a great value. You hold on to your menu and order as many times as you like. The food is really good and it’s not a buffet. The sushi tastes fresh and flavorful. There are so many choices and you can have so many combinations including Hibachi style entrées. Mix and match until you’re satisfied. The service is on point as well. Our server came right on time every time. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

While staying nearby on business, my husband and I decided to give Sushi King a shot due to its close proximity to our hotel. The location was definitely the best part of it for us — we found street parking nearby, which was convenient, and the restaurant itself was nicely presented.

That said, there were a few things we didn’t enjoy. The drink selection was very limited, and we didn’t appreciate that they only offer all-you-can-eat sushi. According to our server, you can’t simply order a few rolls of your choice, which we would have preferred. We tried to make do with wine, but it tasted very much like it came from a box. We ended up having one glass, tapping out, and leaving.

On top of that, although the restaurant itself was nicely presented, the bathrooms were disgusting, which further detracted from the experience.

Unfortunately, it simply was not for us, and we will not be returning.
