Absolutely wonderful meal! I ordered a mix of three different rolls. Every role was fresh and had the perfect ratio between rice and filling. They even included a complementary dessert which I really enjoyed. It’s awesome to see so many great sushi places being added onto the Sacramento map. This is definitely a spot that you should come visit if you’re looking for good quality and appropriately priced roles.

So excited that Arden-Arcade now has a legit sushi spot so close to us. I am a nigiri guy and ordered the nigiri omakase + extra order of chutoro. Extremely pleased with the variety and quality of the fish. The bluefin, wagyu, hotate, and uni were especially divine. My wife was also pleased with her Kyoto roll and sake & hotate nigiri. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Will be back again and again!

Like many of the reviews, I’m equally ecstatic to have a Japanese restaurant in Sacramento that provides fresh quality and quantity of fish. Regarding the food, I think Sushi Kawa is similar to Tokyo Table but I appreciate Sushi Kawa’s generous portions and prefer their quality of dishes.

We tried their chirashi, Sakura roll and Okinawa roll. The star for me was the Sakura roll which had a nice smokiness from the truffle mushroom. The chirashi and Okinawa roll had generous cuts of fish as well and the chirashi had a decent diversity of flavor profiles. I always review the rice because it’s such a crucial component to any nigiri or chirashi. Their rice was nicely seasoned and not overly clumpy nor crumbly. I feel that Kru’s rice tends to be crumbly and doesn’t maintain integrity despite quality fish and more delicate flavors. Sushi Kawa’s rice meets my personal standards.

The staff gave us complementary chawanmushi, which was also delicious with crab meat and mushroom. Thank you chef and team! We’ll be back 🙂

Came for dinner on their opening night (other review doesn’t make sense, as it’s a new restaurant). The food was absolutely delicious, great quality fish and premium rice. Our kid couldn’t stop eating their salmon carpaccio and unagi. They even made a simple ramen in broth off the menu for our kid. Definitely will be regulars here!

This new Japanese restaurant is exceptional. The freshness of the ingredients is evident in the taste, texture, and presentation of each dish. This will be my preferred spot for sushi cravings.

Got the sashimi. The salmon was some of the best/ freshest I’ve tasted- the rest was good but not exceptional – the tuna especially didn’t hit the mark for me.

Surprisingly good. We started with agedashi tofu which had an unusual sauce on it, not your typical ponzu sauce. The ramen has a big beef rib in it and the broth wasn’t super salty. We also ordered a bento box with chicken teriyaki and pork tonkatsu. The sauce for the teriyaki wasn’t overly salty or sweet and the tonkatsu was cooked perfectly.

I would definitely recommend trying this place out. It’s nice to have another Japanese place to eat other than Mikuni.

(writing this review about the former Cambrian Park location before they moved to Sunnyvale)

This is my third visit in the roughly one year that they’ve been open. In that time they’ve matured the food preparation, service, and decor. On this visit (my final one, apparently) I got a Crispy Roll special and katsu chicken entree. The entree came with miso soup and salad similar to other sushi restaurants.

The crispy roll was good but perhaps too many flavors combined to distinguish any one.

The katsu chicken entree, which I’ve had before, is an absolute mountain of chicken. It’s well fried and tasty. I like that it’s strips rather than a cutlet. The entree comes with rice. The sauce is not curry sauce, for those of us who like curry katsu.

JPOP music in the background is a nice ambiance

Was in the area and stopped by for lunch and learned it was the first day opening. I had the Kyoto roll – it was fresh and delicious. They served it with a terrific cucumber salad. Also had the Panna Cotta and some red bean ice cream. The service was particularly good – thank you Peter and Samantha. You are a good team. Will definitely be back.
