If you’re looking to satisfy your sushi craving in the middle of Connecticut, Sushi Kawa will do the job. Came here on a Friday night at 7 pm there was only one other party here. We ended up getting the special which is offered on weeknights after 4 pm where we got 8 rolls for $35. While I’ve had better sushi in other places, the rolls did the job of filling me up. For the scallop tempura and shrimp tempura rolls, I tasted more tempura batter than scallop or shrimp. Overall it was good value for what you pay, but may not be your go to place if you’re looking for really good sushi.

Just a quick note. I did not try the sushi. They looked to be doing a reasonable sushi business. The hibachi was not great. No garlic sauce. I was informed they only do the white sauce. Their menu listed at least 6 different sakis. They had two left. The house I am assuming is The usual. Chicken hibachi was slightly off. Noodles were well done. The mixed veggies for the hibachi entree were very good. Exceptional even. Noodles were cooked perfectly.clear soup and salad were good. Dressing for salad did not taste like it was made in house. Service was okay. The bartender was quick and efficient. Not bad for the prices. Not a place to blow you out of the water either.

Everything was so good, and their mild garlic butter seasoning was perfect.

Grand Opening as a Cajun Seafood restaurant. The food is delicious and they have a very cool menu of seafood! Would highly recommend!

In terms of food, I’ve always had good experiences here. Sometimes the service can be kind of on the slow side though. Their Chinese food is pretty standard fare. Their sushi is some of the best in the area. Their hibachi is a good value. If I go out to each sushi or Chinese food locally, this is usually my first choice.

Very clean, relaxing atmosphere. Staff has been personable and easy to talk to. I sat in the bar area and ordered a Ketel One Dirty Martini which was perfect and to me it is hard to find a bartender to make a good one! The food menu is pretty extensive and fairly priced. My first experience here has been great and I intend on coming back soon. Thank you Kawa!
