Had an amazing experience at this omakase place in Mountain View. The servers and chefs are super welcoming when you walk in! If you here for a celebration or treating yourself to a nice meal, you need to get the omakase tasting menu! The fish was so fresh and melts in your mouth!!! I really like their chawanmushi (steam egg with seafood) , it was so light and flavorful. I recommend this spot for Omakase! 🙂

Came here to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed the omakase menu($155 per person) with my partner. We added 2 sake flights ($55/$75) and 1 uni flight ($65).
It is tucked in the corner of a shopping center which is a little different, but as soon as you walk through the door and are greeted by the host and chefs you totally forget where you are. The place is very small and intimate with a traditional feel. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the offerings and the fliw of dishes was at a good pace. The quality and variety of the fish was impeccable and the seasoning was on point, no need for extra soy sauce or wasabi. The sake flights were a great way to try many different high end sake without committing to a whole bottle. The uni flight was a must for any uni lover and featured 2 different options from Hokkaido 1 from Santa Barbara, and 1 from British Colombia. Overall it was a great value with our whole check being about the same cist as 2 omakase menus alone at other near by options

Amazing dining experience at this low-key Japanese restaurant in Mountain View. Located next to a busy Safeway, you can easily walk by and miss the entrance as they only have a small sign. The interior is small (seats only 24 people), but the sushi was super fresh and very well prepared. The hot dishes were also very good, and the sake menu was surprisingly large. Fast and friendly service. Large free parking lot. Highly recommend it!

This is the best omakase restaurant in the Bay Area. The nigiri are perfect and the chawanmushi just melts in your mouth. Would highly recommend Sushi Jin!

Omakase is good but there are better values in some newly opened competing restaurants. Some of the sashimi didn’t taste that great. Some are great. The service is great and the staff is exceptionally courteous.

Tried the Omakase tasting menu and really enjoyed it! The food was fresh and nicely presented, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which makes for a cozy and intimate dining experience. The pacing of the courses was also well done—we never felt rushed, but there was no long waiting between dishes either. A great spot for a relaxed yet refined sushi night.

Came here for my father’s bday dinner last night. He grew up in Japan and loves sushi. Says this place has rare types of fish which he’s never had. So that’s cool. From my perspective pretty good food but overpriced (800ish for omakase for 3 and a bottle of sake). The sushi rice kept crumbling and falling apart. The tea was weak bland and not at premium level that I expected. They gave the two ladies next to us a complimentary bday dessert but didn’t give my dad anything… after taking 800USD from me, confirming it’s his bday multiple times… can at least comp my dad a dessert for his bday…no? My rec to the restaurant management is if you’re going to comp someone something for an occasion (esp sitting directly next to another customer who’s celebrating their bday) you should comp all celebrating their bday to make them feel just as welcome. Left a terrible aftertaste when they didn’t give my pops a bday dessert is all I’m saying. Esp for a premium price 250+ USD/person. Not coming back. But that being said if you’re willing to pay the money, this place has rare and good fish.

Sushi Jin in Mountain View is an absolute gem! We recently visited for my wife’s birthday, and we opted for the omakase tasting menu. From start to finish, every dish was crafted with such precision and care. The freshness and quality of the fish were outstanding, and each course was a delightful surprise. The balance of flavors and textures was impeccable, showcasing the chef’s incredible skill.
The ambiance of the restaurant made the evening feel intimate and special. The staff was warm and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to make the night memorable. My wife was thrilled, and so was I. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Sushi Jin is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Very good omakase – the best my wife and I experienced so far in the bay area. The nigiri rice compliments the fish well and really draws out the natural flavor. Highly recommend!

The overall experience was good, the food was tasty and the flow for Omakase was decent. We added the Uni which total per person was $200. I would love it if they add a few more nigiri to the Omakase menu alone is $150 per person. Is it worth it? Maybe for special occasions.
