Sushi Jin offers an exceptional dining experience with top-notch food, attentive service, and a serene atmosphere. The fresh sea urchin sashimi was a standout, and the traditional tatami room added an authentic touch. Private rooms are available, making it perfect for intimate gatherings or special occasions.

One of the Best places in Houston to get sushi. Very well priced for quality of the fish. I was very surprised with how good everything was. Staff is very friendly and nice, they bring a complimentary warm towel to clean your hands which is nice. The overall atmosphere is very quiet, easy to talk and have conversations. This place is perfect if your looking for fresh and good quality sushi, would recommend.

I used to go every weekend because this is an authentic Japanese place, but I found the qualty of food has dropped recently so I no longer go there. I hope they improve their food quality. My favorite was bento.

Sushi Jin is one my favorite local spots to get sushi, specifically Nigiri. They serve it very traditional with a bit of wasabi underneath the fish/on top of the rice so be expecting that, but I love it so yummy!

We were in Katy and happened to come across this restaurant by chance—and what a gem it turned out to be. The staff was incredibly attentive, especially Maria, our server, who was knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel well taken care of. The owners were also present, checking in with guests to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal, which added a personal and welcoming touch.

The food was outstanding. Their rolls were absolutely delectable and satisfying. We were pleasantly surprised by the offering of fresh wasabi and pickled wasabi at a low cost—something you don’t often see. The green tea they serve is authentic, sourced directly from Japan.

One of the highlights was the day’s special: bafun uni (Japanese sea urchin) wild-caught from Hokkaido and overnight-shipped from Japan. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also ordered a kids meal, which came in a generous portion.

Our table enjoyed miso soup, tempura udon, the Canada Roll, Jin Special Roll, Yellowtail Roll, and a few sashimi selections. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, and they didn’t skimp on the slices either. Every bite was a treat for our palates.

Overall, it was a delightful dining experience—we’ll definitely be back.

Tried sushi here for the first time, 35 years ago. Back then, I could barely stomach a roll, today, I sashimi’d with the best of them. Thank you Hee!

Back yet again for some sake, sashimi whilst figuring out the NYT Times crossword. Another one of the distinguished Jin’s waited on me. There is a reason this place has been slicing and diving for forty years.

I am a sushi goer and seldom write any review. However I have to write this one since Toda san is back! Mr. Toda is an authentic Japanese chef, Tokyo style cutting when different fish has specific way to prepare, and has been in Houston since the early 80’s. We just learned he started working here since last month, after left his previous sushi shop during covid time and after, and we have been coming here every week, twice a week sometimes. For those who really love TRUE Japanese sushi, you won’t be disappointed. Make your appointments and request Toda san’s sushi bar. Certainly many other good food from the kitchen. You really need to try them. Attached are some arts of sushi from this place. Enjoy it!

Some of the best sushi in town. Their specials are amazing. We’ve had the whelks several times and they are unlike any other nigiri. Quite a good sake selection too. It is in an undesirable corner of a strip mall, but it helps secluded the place and make it seem like even more of a rare jewel. I take my wife here for special occasions and it is her favorite sushi restaurant. We used to go to Oishi, but Sushi Jin is much better. It is very wheelchair friendly as well, which I greatly appreciate.
