I don’t write reviews very often, but I’m a sushi lover and I’ve tried most of the places in San Jose and the surrounding area, and this one deserves a special mention. Although the four times I ordered were for delivery (like in the photo), the place is beautifully decorated, and it’s clear that the ingredients they use are fresh. The sushi? Top 5 of the best places in San Jose in terms of quality-price. The people who work there are VERY friendly, and that’s why I’m writing this review. GO try the sushi. It’s amazing and some of the best you’ll find in the area.

Sushi Island has the freshest, tastiest Japanese food in South San José. Jay is a sushi master and Kiki always remembers us and our favorite food. Get the Rose Roll. You will be glad you did. The Bento Boxes are amazing as well.

Went to dinner with the family tonight and I was impressed with everything. I ordered nigiri sushi and all the seafood was fresh! My son ordered a couple of rolls. They were large and very tasty. My wife and other son ordered bento boxes and were very happy with their selections. Will definitely be back.

There were three of us that went there for lunch. One had a very nice Bento Box, with yellow tail, Escolar, salmon, and tuna, plus salmon teriyaki. He enjoyed it. Two of us had special sushi rolls, from the lunch special. They also came with miso soup. I chose a Warrior’s roll, which was unique and excellent, and a Rose roll, which was very good. My daughter chose the Giants roll and the Under the Sea roll. We shared all four rolls. Her two were very good, but we would have preferred them without the spicy mayo. Of the two, the Giants role was the standout. But of the four different sushi rolls, we both agree that the Warriors role was amazing. There were so many interesting sushi rolls that we both decided we would have to come back and have the Warriors roll again, plus one or more of the other special sushi rolls. Each of our special sushi roll plates was served with a beautiful flower ornament. A very nice touch.

As a sushi and raw fish enthusiast, I was impressed by the fresh fish quality and flavors of what we ordered. There is A LOT of menu items but I personally enjoyed the sushi rolls, sashimi, uni, and raw oysters! The raw oysters were immaculate (with a kick of spice) and their uni was delectable.
The service is very friendly and proactive in making sure your water was filled & that everything was good. Will definitely be returning back here again!

First time here and it was delicious. Great lunch specials, especially on their sushi rolls! I got the Mango crunch roll and Spicy geisha. Boyfriend got the chicken Teriyaki bento.

Space was comfortable and service was friendly. All items were good portions and super fresh! Flavors were perfect. The Tofu appetizer was delicious and the scallops were the best we’ve ever had. My mom and I both agree this is our new favorite sushi spot. Highly recommend!

Solid dining experience at Sushi Island. We ordered a selection of special rolls, apps, and hand rolls. All were very good. Garlic Edamame was insanely good. Salmon kama was slightly overcooked, cheek was excellent but remaining portion of it was dry. Rolls were all delicious.
Service was good and our tea cups were never empty.
Excited to finally have a sushi place in the area that I’m happy to return to.
Update: Became a regular here and haven’t looked back. The best of the local sushi restaurants by far.

We came here a little after they opened in the morning. It wasn’t busy so we got sat down right away, which was nice. These were what we ordered. The Hamachi was okay so was the island roll. The other 2 rolls were better.
