Great alternative to Japanese sushi as this has a very local flare to it. Love this place! The bowls are big and come with rice, fillings and toppings and sauces- love this far better than poke. Rolls are decent and the fish always tastes great.

Just an easy pick up place! They know what they are doing. I have not had this amazing sushi before. Great quality food, priced decently and fast service.
We had Hilo – super tasty
Half baked – even more tasty with a fish layer on top of sushi.
Poke bowl – very filling
Ahi – super fresh.
Wish we lived closer to this place, but we live in Virginia.

Cool spot for a quick bite, but pretty expensive and they don’t even provide ginger or soy and wasabi. But if you can do without those and dont mind paying extra (than other sushi options nearby), you won’t be disappointed with the flavor. I paid just over $25 for 2 small rolls (1 add-on ingredient to each roll really hiked up the price… When did cream cheese get so expensive?).

I ordered the ahi tuna bento box and it was amazing!!! the portion was generous and the owner was so kind giving me the option to make substitutions. the fish was fresh and flavourful. definitely recommend!!

Delicious bowl with great sauces. I had a vegetarian version so I can’t rate their protein options, sauces were flavorful and veggies were fresh. As others have said, Great pick up option for the beach or for a meal for the flight home.

Honestly the best spot in Hilo for Poke and sushi!! Everything was amazing, Spicy Ahi and tempura shrimp, sweet potato’s and avocado!! If you are debating on a place to grab a bite, then this is it!!

Great walk-up and take out restaurant. They offer standard poke bowls or you can custom select a poke bowl, which I did. I got a tasty bowl and a good size portion. When I return to Hilo, I will stop at Sushi HI Rolls & Bowls.
