Unassuming little gem. We arrived and started queuing 4:40 (abt 8 parties in front of us) and got a table at 6:15 for 3, this was a Wednesday. The wait was long as only 2 ppl run the restaurant. We ordered miso soup, chirashi, 8 pc nigiri, and some individual nigiri’s that come in 2 pcs per portion. Everything was absolutely divine, soup had lots of flavor and fish very fresh, it transported us back to Japan. Service was great too. Well worth the wait.

The entire experience is truly the most unique sushi dining we have ever had. Arrive by 4:30 to line up if you want to ensure a spot. They can only accommodate up to a party of 4 so no large parties either. It’s a family run establishment so while the limitations could be frustrating for some, this is how they best accommodate their guests while preserving high quality service. We got the seared yellowtail and salmon rolls and the Hana roll. The Hana roll – I would order as my last meal. It was legitimately the best sushi roll in my life.

My partner and I booked their omakase experience and we couldn’t have been happier with it. The selection of dishes and quality of the sushi was excellent – each course had nuance and depth of flavour. With gentleness, warmth, and excellent story-telling about each dish, the service created an atmosphere of relaxed mindfulness. Thank you, Sushi Hana team, for an outstanding meal.

I went for their omakase (which happens every Saturday) and was very pleased with the food. What a delicious variety of fish! You can definitely tell that they care about sourcing their ingredients and presenting them in the best way possible. This was my second time going for omakase and I hope to come back soon!

This is an island gem! Our server was beautiful and kind! We had the truffle wagyu, the shrimp tempura roll and a salmon tuna bowl. The wagyu was literally melt in your mouth amazing, with just the right amount of truffle. Sometimes truffle can overwhelm a dish, but this was perfection. The shrimp tempura roll has a lemon zest which gave it a refreshing flavor. The salmon and Japanese tuna were like butter. Highly recommend everything we tried!

Found this little gem on our last visit to Waimea/ Big Island! Love love superb food & amazing service. The food is sooo good… top quality fish. The love & care that is put into this little gem shows!!!❤️I compare it to NOBU food wise. Ambiance is clean+ small, recommend that u reduce clutter in the front since it’s such a small space. Love this husband & wife team!

It’s more like an exclusive izakaya than a sushi bar in service style. This is a two person operation, so be patient, and you will be rewarded. There is a sushi counter where the chef is doing his wonderful manipulations. The sushi rice is some of the best flavored I have had outside Japan. The dining room and decor are very nice. The fish is almost all imported from Japan and is fresh and delicious! I had my favorite dish, Chirashi. The bowl of rice came with spicy tuna and salmon roe on top. The Sashimi was served on a separate plate and was bountiful as well as beautiful. My wife had a tempura upon and the tempura was excellent. When you get there, you need to sign in on the iPad out front and sit and wait outside until they come get you. At times there is a wait because it is small and popular. But it’s worth the wait.

Best sushi I’ve had on the island great sashimi selection and a variety of different fish and Uni they use real wasabi roots. If you’re lucky enough to get reservations, definitely visit they do take walk-ins if you go at a non-busy time. They also offer Omakase on certain days.

It’s like going into a museum where you get to eat the art work. Brought two visiting friends and they were blown away and they are already planning when to go back during this visit! It is always a treat and honor to visit this amazing restaurant ❤️❤️❤️

The omakase is well worthwhile. Service is very personal and intentional. Sushi was very fresh and high quality. You can definitely tell the care put into every bite. Because it is a small space with limited reservations for the omakase you get a quiet, enjoyable experience.
