Best quick stop ever ! We ordered the shrimp appetizer, can’t remember the name but sooo good! The dynamite roll is one of my personal favorites! The scallops were done so well , 5/5. Service and ambiance were perfect for a quiet dinner either way my fiancé. My fiancé really their items pictured below as well. Definitely will be visiting again for a more full dining experience with more dishes. Thank you

We’ve been all over Los Angeles, and for that matter southern California. This is hands-down the best sushi we’ve had in the last seven years. I traveled internationally for over 10 years including Japan and this is the closest it’s ever been stateside. I would highly recommend this sushi restaurant.

This place is so cute! The food is so good. I’m kind of poor so I can’t come here often. I walk by here every day and no one is inside. It makes me sad because you can tell the owners put so much love into this place. I’d hate to see it go. The sushi is fire and unique. You won’t regret trying to place. Pleasantly surprised by this place! Was on the beach and saw it and decided to just try it and got some rolls as carry-out. Portions were large, great value for the price, tasted good. The staff were so, so nice. I could tell it was important to them that I had a good experience. The dishware was super pretty too, wish I had dined in instead so I could see more up close, but I know I am definitely coming back to dine in and bringing friends next time I’m in Santa Monica.

On Our last evening in Santa Monica we came across this new Sushi Restaurant, it’s week 3 for the team and they welcome you graciously and are very attentive.
The quality of the dishes we had were amazing and our server helped us with our choices and explained on areas where we had questions .
Overall we had a delicious dinner and really glad we stopped by .

Let me start off by saying the food was not bad. This is about the service. The poor server. Yes, singular. The entire restaurant was waited on by a single server during a Friday night dinner rush. I felt so bad for her, I couldn’t even get mad when it took forever just to get our orders taken. It took us 2 hours to get two rolls. Whoever runs this restaurant seriously needs to manage better, because cheaping out on hiring one extra person to help out during dinner rush made me never want to go there again.

Oh how I was hoping this place would be better than it was! It’s so conveniently located, and the staff is very kind and lovely. But the food? So expensive, yet so cheap. The $16 California roll was paltry and stank of canned tuna (which it contained instead of imitation crab), then I found a little piece of plastic wrap in my salmon roll (which was $20 for eight measly pieces). The “Gozen sauce” is a cheap sweet-and-sour meant to mask the taste of the low-grade fish. Honestly such a disappointment! At least the beer was cold. I spent $65 after tax and tip for: seaweed salad, house beer, California roll (one of the cheap rolls) and one of the Special salmon rolls. Will not be coming back unfortunately.

As a traveler staying at the Hilton Hotel, I found this lovely neighborhood sushi place halfway between the hotel and the beach and pier. Do yourself a favor and skip Bubba Gump and the other tourist spots and head to Sushi Gozen. It is unassuming and unpretentious and has a wonderful variety of authentic Japanese – American choices. From standard sushi to fancier rolls, bowls of noodles, and other entrees and appetizers. My experience was the opposite of the one star reviewer’s report. the sushi fish was delightfully fresh and well “sauced”, and worth the price.
