This was a phenomenal omekase experience. Shout out to Miguel, Jason, and the crew. The setting is lovely. A menu listing each course was inviting, and each dish was inventive, beautiful, and tasty. The chefs were highly experienced; watching them was seeing art being created. Honestly, for the experience and number of courses, the price is not bad. Cocktails from Kamon are exceptional. I highly recommend this secret sushi bar and its sister speakeasy (Kamon).

I really enjoyed my dining experience at Sushi Gaga. Each dish is unique, tasty, and beautifully decorated. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the freshness and quality of the ingredients, with fish that seemed to have leaped from the ocean to the plate. The meal’s pacing was impeccable – each course was served at just the right moment, allowing us to savor the unique flavors and textures. Not to be overlooked, the sake pairing was divine. The selection complemented each course perfectly, enhancing the flavors. The service at Sushi Gaga was equally impressive, with attentive yet unobtrusive staff who anticipated our every need. It’s a culinary journey that delights and surprises with every bite. Highly recommended! You’re missing out if you don’t check out this place!

Absolutely stunning omakase experience. The plating was so beautiful and the fresh fish melted in my mouth. As someone who was recently in Japan, I felt that this was truly an authentic experience. I keep using the word experience because there’s no other way to describe how incredibly tasty it was. I chose to do the sake pairing and could it recommend it enough . Make sure to book in advance because only 10 guests will be seated each night. 10/10 recommend

Sushi Gaga is a rare gem, a place that defies expectations and elevates the simple act of eating sushi to an art form. It’s a five-star experience that’s all about the joy of discovery, the pleasure of taste, and the sheer love of sushi done spectacularly right. All the dishes are super delicious and special! The omakase menu was a journey through the waters of Japan, with each course telling its own story, and I wish they could have lasted forever. And it wasn’t just the food that had me hooked; it was the whole atmosphere. The space is cozy, almost intimate, with a warm wood counter that invites you to watch the culinary magic up close. The staff were excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I think it’s the best omakase restaurant in San Diego that I’ve ever had so far!

Phenomenal experience. Took my husband here for his birthday and we loved every course, you’ll definitely leave full. The environment is really intimate (10 people max) so you really are getting the best customer service and the freshest food. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, or whenever you want to try something new.

Wow! Amazing 18-course Omakase experience beautifully crafted and presented in a private, “hidden,” and intimate setting. The whole experience takes Japanese fine dining to a whole new level. The service is extraordinary and the attention to detail is exquisite. My new favorite for Omakase and Sushi!

This is a sushi omakase restaurant (the menu is fixed with the chef’s selections), that is in a hidden location that is part of the ASA Bakery. You need to make reservations, and they only have one seating per evening for 10 people.
The decor is very nice, and the service was very attentive – but while attentive, was inconsistent- with some staff being very professional, and other staff being somewhat untrained.
You don’t come here for the view – as there is none. You are in an enclosed space with covered windows.
The sushi is okay. Not excellent. Average. It was good – but for the price, it was certainly not what you would expect. You can find much better sushi for much less. It was somewhat disappointing, as the price was very expensive, but the sushi quality was not a match for the price.
Everything was nicely presented though.
Would I come back… No. There are far better high end sushi omakase restaurants. Honestly, I would not recommend this restaurant, and would look to other places.

For my birthday this year, I wanted a truly special experience and thanks to Sushi Gaga it was unforgettable. We booked a private omakase dinner for a group of close friends, and it was absolutely phenomenal. As good as some of the best experiences in Japan. Highlights being the smoked bonito, hotate, duck noodle broth, and more. There was no bad bite and a few were truly exceptional
Stepping into the restaurant, the atmosphere was elegant and intimate, perfect for a celebratory dinner. The staff were all so personable and attentive. Our water glasses and sake glasses never even went half full.
The whole party, including many who had never done an experience like this, walked away full and in awe. Days later it is all we are still talking about.
