We showed up at 745pm to a store mid-close. The quality of our meal suffered severely! What a disappointment. 3 People on the clock, 30+ minutes on the order, only to get home to a sad, sad order.
We got naked rolls!! We ordered 5 rolls, only 1 came a it was described on the menu, along with one special request – mango instead of cucumber. One either began whitening in our rolls, while the female stood and stared at us. The third staff member was busy cleaning the restaurant.
Half the line was put up, the other half was uncovered – our tuna had a slight funk to it. 4 it if 5 rolls were missing everything that was supposed to come on them. One roll had cucumber instead of mango. The avocado had bad spots and the caterpillar roll was… watery? Overall, this was half done, sad sushi.
$69.92 and only one roll was correct, the food was gross, and I now sit here, eating it out of sheer hunger, wondering if I am going suffer food poisoning in a few hours. Bon apetit!
Now they are closed and i cannot du anything about it.
UPDATE:
I called in the morning and the day manager was very friendly. She redid the entire order and made it very well. She was upfront about what they did not have, but offered extra of other to make up for it. She Ajay did it with a smile and a great attitude!

Fast casual Chipotle-style sushi and poke bowl joint. You order at the counter and, if you are eating in, the food is brought out to you. Ambience is what your experience at a fast food joint – stock decor, harsh lighting, tables and chairs. Ingredients seemed decent enough, but I would go with the make your own option over anything pre-set on the menu. Got two build your own rolls and one menu roll – spicy tuna. Figured since spicy tuna is one of the most ubiquitous rolls at high and low-brow places, this would be a sure bet, but it was really disappointing – I couldn’t eat past one piece. The spicy tuna mix is not right and has a distinctly sweet flavor (like a sweet and sour sauce mix). The other two rolls were good and made as ordered. Staff was courteous and worked hard to move a long like quickly. If you go in with fast food expectations, you’ll likely be happy.

Service is warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The staff is happy to guide you, make recommendations, and clearly cares about the experience you’re having—not just turning tables. Whether you’re a sushi purist or someone who loves bold flavors, this restaurant hits the sweet spot. It’s the kind of place you keep thinking about the next day… and then find yourself planning your return.

Amazing food and even better service. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. Sushi Freak is definitely a go-to spot — highly recommend!

The service and quality are terrible. I order ahead so I can grab it and go, but the last few times I’ve ordered it’s never been ready and we have to stand there and wait for them to make it. What’s the point of ordering ahead in that case. We waited even longer because the workers were busy having conversations. The quality is mediocre. My sushi roll was covered in burnt coconut flakes so it tasted terrible. I will no longer order from either location, as the service and quality are the same at both locations. In my opinion, just go across the street to the REAL sushi bar, where the prices are the same for better quality food.

We went to the one on Telshor Waldorf this week and walked inside without the hours of operation only to be told they’re closing early but their doors were unlocked. Feels like you just didnt want to work the full shift. So we came to the one on Lohman only to have horrible service. Waited forever even though we’re the only ones in the shop. Received burned tempura. And then they finished, we paid, and they said they’d bring it out to us when it was ready. We waited again. It was already ready. What a joke and a waste of money on expensive sushi that could have tasted better if it was made off the floor. Will never come back to either location.

The rolls were beautifully presented. The atmosphere is super welcoming, and the staff really knows their menu. Definitely my new go-to spot in Las Cruces!

For $50 you are better off anywhere else.
3 people working at the speed of one,
They were out of half of the menu, then after we got our drinks they informed us that they had the wrong lids. Bad management or oversight at this location.

I would not recommend eating here. I have food poisoning from their teriyaki chicken which also tasted really bad, like school cafeteria food! I only ate it because I was so hungry and we had doordashed it, it was my only option at that point(which i now regret as i’m spending the rest of my night on the toilet and throwing up). My roommates also didn’t like the spicy tuna rolls and sushi burrito they ordered.
