My wife and I live 6 mins away from this place and it’s our first time eating here and we regret not coming here all those years.
The customer service is second to none, food is insanely fresh and delicious, you don’t need to travel internationally or out of state for incredible food.

Sushi Exchange in Del Mar is a hidden gem! The sushi is incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor you can really taste the quality in every bite. The rolls are creative without being overdone, and the fish melts in your mouth. The sashimi and specialty rolls are especially impressive, and the presentation makes every dish feel special.
The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale perfect for both a casual lunch or a nice dinner out. Everything from the service to the pacing of the meal was spot on.

This place is absolutely amazing! Me and my family come here almost once a week and we all love the food and the experience. The ramen is absolutely delicious! (my trick is to switch out the broth for the broth that they use for the udon noodles). If you are anywhere near here i definitely recommend coming!

This is my go to sushi spot In the 56/15 corridor area. I have been here quite a few times and it never disappoints. Their rolls are large, priced well they have a wide variety. Then for the nigiri, they have a lot of fresh fish, just look on their special board and take your pick. I like variety and special fish selection and this place doesn’t disappoint. All of the fish are very well priced and I highly recommend this spot for all of your sushi needs.

Sushi Exchange is my go-to whenever I’m craving sushi. Whatever you’re craving they do it well – nigiri, sashimi, or rolls. Their rolls are unique and innovative and not drenched in sauce. Their hot items are on point as well – the miso mac and cheese is amazing. Its also family friendly with great kids meals that my picky eaters always eat – we come here with my two little ones all the time. Great service – I have never been disappointed by anything I’ve ever ordered. Truly a hidden gem.

Sushi Exchange is hands down my all-time favorite sushi spot! I find myself coming back at least every two weeks because it never disappoints. Every time I have friends in town, this is where I take them. Their Yuzu Yellowtail is absolutely incredible, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with a wasabi mayo on top. I also love the Chef’s Choice Nigiri, which always feels like a special treat with the quality and variety they serve. I always do the chopped wasabi to pair with my nigiri. The Lemon Cilantro is also very good as well as the Flaming Haley.
The prices are very affordable for the quality you get, and the service is consistently amazing. My servers Maylinh and Sally were very welcoming and sweet. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, some rolls (Ted’s Truffle, Flaming Hey Lee, and Spicy Hali Toro) and chicken karaage for the littles. The food is delicious and the staff is great. Highly recommended!

This is the best quality sushi in San Diego! I have been looking for excellent sushi in the San Diego area for years, and sushi exchange is absolutely delicious, high quality, and affordable! I have tried nearly every sushi restaurant in the Convoy food district which is famed for excellent Asian food, and sushi exchange is the most delicious I have had in the city, even better the upscale places in Convoy!
The atmosphere was excellent, with kind and quick service. Servers were very helpful! The TVs in the background were playing a range of options that were all appropriate for kids but still entertaining for adults. They had on some studio ghibli, some sports, and some live action films.
The sushi was incredibly fresh, both the fish and the vegetables tasted high quality and were prepared lovingly. The sauces were phenomenal and tasted like they were made in house! We got five sushi rolls, I really enjoyed the Dynamite roll, the scallops were absolutely perfectly prepared! We also had the dragon roll in the caterpillar roll, the eel on it was the perfect consistency, which is hard to find in the area.
We also really liked the seasonal options the marry me and the animal world! We tried the Miso Butter Mac n Cheese and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly balanced, just the right degree of richness and a really satisfying texture as well. I absolutely cannot wait to bring more friends to sushi exchange and it will be my go-to restaurant for any reason from now on!
