This eatery from Chefs/owners Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee is no ordinary omakase spot. The nigiri are not just supremely finessed but also infused with original touches—like the dab of sweet corn “pudding” and sourdough breadcrumbs that coat slices of hamachi. Even traditional pairings become transcendent with his house-fermented soy sauce. The iconoclastic vibe extends to the beverages, including cocktails, sake, and beer. Despite such originality, this bar does indeed adhere strictly to one tradition: a mini counter with seating for just ten to ensure a deeply personalized experience. Your time here is bound to pass in a blissful haze of convivial chatter. – The Michelin Guide

Reviews
Incredible experience from start to finish, with a total of 21 courses (the chef adding an additional two at the end) and our party chose the Sake pairing (hand selected by the chef) to go along with the courses which I also recommend.
The fish all sourced from Japan except for the Albacore which is local from Fort Bragg in Mendocino County. The wasabi, freshly ground into a paste, the chef provided is from the only farm outside of Japan up in Mt. Shasta where the grower redirected one of the mountains streams to go through his wasabi garden. And the rice, from two ancient grains also from Japan and cooked a specific way that is superb. All of the sauces and seasonings were created by the head chef himself which took him days to be able to produce.
So to have a super private, intimate, and close experience with the chef and his sous-chefs, to go along with the phenomenal quality in seafood, rice, wasabi, sauces, seasonings, and Sake, this experience is like no other. You’re not just paying for the food and service, but the experience and knowledge knowing how much time and effort was put into each course.
Highly recommend for an anniversary, birthday, or really any occasion. Will definitely be coming back next year to try and whole new tasting menu. 10/10.
I’ve observed that most of the low rated reviews were over the price of the experience.
The experience is quite expensive, but worth the experience if you understand what you’re getting yourself into.
The head chef creates a personalized intimate atmosphere, with a touch of fun. He takes you on a journey from the locally sourced produce, to the remote seas of Hokkaido Japan and the Mediterranean coasts of Spain. Each one of the ingredients are thoughtfully used in this experience and are put together with finesse and sophistication.
It’s a delight for individuals looking for a food experience that challenges tradition and incorporates ingredients that cause you to second guess yourself in your mind. However, you are delightfully surprised with how wonderfully well they compliment one another in execution.
I am a local to Sonoma county, and I plan on visiting again to see what the chef has prepared for next season.
