This is hands-down one of my favorite sushi spots in Raleigh. I’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The sushi tastes fresh, there’s a lot of variety on the menu, and the BOGO roll deal is honestly one of the best values around. The service is a big reason I keep coming back too—our waiter was friendly, quick, and made everything easy.
What I also like is the vibe: it looks clean, feels comfortable, and doesn’t feel ratchet at all. Plus it’s in a perfect location—super close to bars, so it’s a great spot to eat first and then go bar hopping.
And real talk: a lot of other sushi spots around here have prices that don’t match what you get—charging $20+ for a cold, lifeless roll that comes out mid. This place is the opposite: good quality, good portions, and the deal actually makes it worth it.
If you’re not sure what to order, I recommend the Yummy Roll and the California Roll. I’d give this place 5 stars all day.
My server(s) were so kind and one was in training, her first day. The young man gave me great recommendations, the young woman pleasant while learning. The price is reasonable as it’s BOGO on the sushi rolls.
I didn’t enter the restaurant, the outside dining area is comfortable, and accommodating. I enjoyed this area while I waited. My food came out quick enough that I was sad to be leaving the comfortable dining area.
My girlfriend and I don’t go out much, so we were trying to enjoy a nice night out. The whole experience went downhill from the moment we arrived. The host didn’t even greet us. He paused, pushed past us to figure out where to seat us, and then sat us in the bar area with zero enthusiasm and a miserable look on his face. Our server was just as bad. She was completely emotionless and had a clear “I hate my job” look on her face. I knew right then this wasn’t going to go well.
It took 25 minutes to get our appetizer and 40 minutes for our main food. When it finally came, we were so hungry we just started eating, not realizing I was actually eating my girlfriend’s sushi roll. The server had given us the wrong order. When we let her know, she took absolutely no accountability and looked at us like it was our fault we didn’t realize it sooner (I’m no sushi expert!).
She took it back, we waited another 30 minutes, and nothing came out. Our server vanished. We decided to just leave, and since we couldn’t find our waitress, we told the bartender what happened. Her only excuse was, “Yeah, we have a 20-top outside so the kitchen is backed up.” If you guys messed up our order, shouldn’t fixing it be the priority?
It was a terrible, terrible experience from start to finish. And the crazy part? I still left a 20% tip.
We ordered a salad, miso soup, the Bradley Chubb, Philip Rivers, & the Ring of Fire. The Chubb and Ring of Fire were spicy but delicious and the Philip rivers was light and freshening. The salad was shareable but I wasn’t impressed by the ginger dressing it lacked a little flavor. Would definitely recommend Sushi Blues especially for the bogo sushi deal that’s a real steal.
Plenty of seating inside and outside! Fun, musical aesthetic. The food looks really good, but is a little bland on taste.
The service is good, and the servers are always patient, attentive, and friendly. If I had more thumbs, I would give it 3 thumbs up.
Great tasting food with a chill vibe. It’s my favorite place for sushi in Raleigh.
