My wife and I recently moved here last month and have been looking for a new sushi place. It’s safe to say that this is THE SPOT! We found Sushi Bene on google and decided to give it a try for a date night. We sat at the bar and watched the sushi chefs work their magic. Previously working in fine dining we have high standards in quality of food and service. Mason took care of us. Our experience with him alone would have made us come back. However as sushi snobs the food absolutely blew us away! Here are the rolls we got. 10/10 would recommend!
– Tiger
– Firecracker
– Texan lover
With a tuna tar tar appetizer
Thank you Mason and Sushi Bene we will be back!

Let me start with this. Five stars is not enough to comprehend and put into words the experience of Sushi Bene. We went in and the atmosphere was already great, and the waiter, Malaki, was an amazing guy. The food here was incredible, and honestly as much praise as I sing for this place it isn’t enough. We will definitely be back for more, you should try it!

Best sushi in the city!! My 2 favorites are the ahi sushi tower and the dynamite roll, perfect blend of flavors, spice and fresh ingredients. The whole crew is amazing and friendly. We always enjoy our visits! Highly recommended family owned restaurant.

Excellent little sushi spot! Very high quality sushi, nice menu with a mix of traditional items plus some fun & innovative stuff. Staff is courteous and attentive. We had a great meal sitting at the bar and chatting with their sushi chefs. We will be back.

Great small neighbourhood sushi spot, 10 tables, bar seating as well.
Jayden helped us out and was really nice and helpful. Place was not busy at all when we got there on Saturday around 5. It was too early maybe.

We had their shrimp tempura, it was good
So was the friend chicken. Edamame was flavourful but needed to be more spicy.

Must get the cucumber salad as well it was very fresh!

They were all good, only thing is that the rolls were HUMUNGOUS. Can’t not have it in one bite, no way, unless you’re an expert lol
I suggest them to make them a bit smaller, to enjoy it rather than a mouth full.
8 pieces than can be 12 if they were smaller, very filling.

Have dined in and taken to go multiple times now and it’s always excellent. I prefer to order the hot sauces on the side for the specialty rolls to use as a dip rather than a coating because the fish flavors can be drowned out with it on top. I’ve never been dissatisfied with the flavor or service here. Every Togo order has been ready when predicted making it easy to order ahead and run in on the way home. So happy to have such a great sushi restaurant so close to the house, always my first choice now.

The food was great. I went with a friend and we had a good time. It is a cozy place to eat and talk. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.

I look forward to going back.

Normally I’d give this place a 10/10 every day of the week, but when I came on Friday afternoon it was far from perfect the kid waiter acted like he owned the place and had an attitude like no other, I asked for a simple request and was told it’s not even possible even though for 3 years I’d get the exact same item weekly. Service took about 10x longer than it should took over 10 minutes just to be greeted and there was only one other family there. During the meal the rice on the rolls tasted quite old. Very hard and bland and everytime I tried to get the waiter he would always say hold on so finally I gave up. Fast forward three hours later and I couldn’t stop throwing up, this lasted for two days. Unfortunately I probably will not be coming back here, as much as I loved this place and have been coming weekly for almost 3 years now this experience was not good.

My wife and I grew up in the Seattle area and we love sushi. When we moved to Texas we ate it a couple times and were very underwhelmed. (We didn’t expect the sushi to be as good as Seattle, but we were hoping it would be a lot better than it was.) We’d given up on sushi here but then we decided to give it one more try at a place down the street. We’re so glad we did! The sushi here is great and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It’s now our go-to spot and the only place we’ll eat sushi in the DFW area.

Tried the Texas Lover, shrimp tempura hand roll, squid salad, bulgogi bowl, spicy tuna and a California roll with added scallops.

First surprise was the squid salad was smoked, not bad flavor but definitely not what was expected (double checked the menu and didn’t see it indicated but I could be blind). The Texas lover and bulgogi were too buried in sauce to note anything other than “hey, that’s a lot of sauce”. I love sauce but it was overboard! Last surprise: head lettuce in a rice bowl??

The “normal” rolls were quite good so next time will stick to them. Service was ok, nothing to complain about it was just busy lunchtime. Some hits, some misses, will try again and stick to the basic rolls.
