The quality of the fish is outstanding. The specials are always excellent and can be a bit of an adventure…but worth it. Great spot for locals to catch-up.

First of all, it took WAY too long to prepare the food, it took a 1hr and 15mins just to prepare the first course of food. The food was small as well. The pork in the Tonkatsu was very stale and the breading was falling apart with every touch. The tempura sauce was sour. The sushi was not fresh, the sweet prawn was over marinated for at least a day. Don’t recommend Sushi Bar Hana for people that want to eat actual, good quality sushi.

This establishment is among the finest locally-owned sushi bars in the East Bay area. It is small, charming, and the owners are extremely nice and kind.

This place by far is the best sushi place I’ve ever been to. Service is fantastic as well, I miss having conversations with Midori San. I really miss coming here and enjoying my lunch almost every week on my lunch break since we moved out of California. If ever you are in Danville, you must stop by and check them out.

Great little sushi place. Perfect sized rolls and high quality food. Small space but family owned and very intimate. The server was so sweet.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and can honestly say this is the best sushi in our area. It’s a cute little restaurant, family owned by wife and husband Midori and Yoshi. It’s a bit hard to find but when you do you’ll be soo happy. Not only do they serve authentic Japanese food, the owners are very hospitable and friendly. Great for families as they also include cooked chicken, steak and fish on their menu for children or those who aren’t in love with sushi. Yoshi’s teriyaki sauce is the best I’ve had and his tataki sashimi hits the spot like nothing else. I recommend Sushi Bar Hana to all my friends and people who love authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price.

Definitely 5 star experience every time I ate here. My standard for sushi is pretty high – I’ve eaten sushi in Japan, NYC, Hong Kong and London and this is definitely on my top list. It is a small family owned real sushi place (sushi made from a real trained Japanese sushi chief that make everything from stretch) I feel welcomed into a nice Japanese home on every visit and the vibe is very cosy and calming. Sushi is outstanding, fresh, generous portion. I’ve been to many Japanese restaurants in Tri-valley and Bay area just to check them out but I am not looking elsewhere anymore, this is the one! Really Really nice folks that are real and genuine!

This place is an awesome family run place that’s been operating almost 30 years! If that isn’t a testament to the food I don’t know what is. Make sure you check in often over the phone, this place frequently makes special dishes for their regulars and frequent visitors. A lot of the clientele speak in Japanese as do the owners making this place a super cool cultural hub. Intimate, warm atmosphere. I hope they stay open through the pandemic!
