I always saw those videos of people marrying cars or other things and I never understood why… until I tried their seaweed salad!!!!! Sushi, sashimi, nigiri, everything was delicious.
I absolutely loved the place, the music, the whole atmosphere.
The sushi chef in the bar was very nice and we will definitely be back.

Amazing- I’m so grateful this exists in our tiny town. Louder house beats and it’s a vibe- Makaila was on her first day and crushed. Great sushi.

A truly incredible spot. The chef is so talented and clearly so passionate about his work. That passion comes across so clearly in the execution of each bite. Highly highly recommend! The menu is also very gluten friendly.

I forget the sushi bar employees name but he is the only one working there currently. Very professional but friendly and knowledgeable. Glad to have a place like this in our town. Since my wife and I moved from Milwaukee it’s been difficult to find anything other than different versions of bar food unless you wanted to travel. This is another step toward diversifying the food scene in Saugatuck. I wish them well and hope it inspires other ventures in town. I will say it was a bit confusing, sushi ba and the Singapore room are run semi separately but are part of the same venture. A reservation at sushi ba doesn’t get you in at the Singapore room and vice versa. I did step into the Singapore room to check it out and seems pretty cool. Although I did see that my least favorite waitress in Saugatuck made her way over to the Singapore room. The restaurants questionable judgement about that particular employee was more than balanced out by the guy running the sushi ba. I will definitey be back

Saugatuck has a gem on its hands with SushiBa—a sushi experience that far exceeds expectations, especially for a small lakeshore town. From the moment we walked in, the space felt electric: intimate, stylish, and full of energy without being overwhelming. It strikes that perfect balance of elevated yet unpretentious.
We started with the spicy tuna roll, which was refreshingly unexpected—clean, bright, and beautifully balanced without the usual mayo overload. It was a masterclass in restraint and flavor. The toro roll followed, melting on the tongue with that luscious, buttery texture only true toro delivers.
But the highlight was the omakase journey—each piece a thoughtful, artful presentation of flavor and technique. You can tell the chef here isn’t just serving fish; they’re telling a story. Every bite was confident, creative, and deeply satisfying.
SushiBa isn’t just good for Michigan—it’s simply excellent. It holds its own against sushi we’ve had in cities like New York, LA, and Tokyo. If you’re looking for a place where serious sushi meets a cool, contemporary vibe, SushiBa is absolutely worth the reservation.

The best atmosphere in Saugatuck! The sushi was so fresh and amazing, you didn’t have to smother it in sauces, it just melted in your mouth. Fabulous job from our server and all of the staff!

This is a very unique place as it’s very small and intimate. It’s just a pure sushi menu, nothing else. If you like sushi, this is as good as it gets.
