ad an amazing Sunday lunch here and honestly — this was the best sushi I’ve ever had. Every single bite tasted premium. You can immediately tell the quality of the fish and ingredients are on another level — incredibly fresh, clean flavors, and perfectly prepared. Sitting at the sushi bar made it even better because you can actually see the freshness and care that goes into everything being made.

I ordered the green mussels, spicy garlic edamame, the WTF Roll, Wagyu sushi, and the Tuna Lover Roll — and every dish was outstanding. The Wagyu sushi completely blew me away… I’ve never had Wagyu like that before. It literally melted in my mouth. The presentation across the board was beautiful and showed real attention to detail.

Huge shoutout to Ugo at the sushi bar — incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate about what he does. He even let me try a roll I was curious about, which made the experience feel personal and memorable.

If you’re looking for top-tier sushi with premium ingredients and an amazing atmosphere, this place is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back

I almost don’t want to write a review so that we can keep this place a secret!

We’ve driven by this restaurant so many times and I’ve been skeptical to eat here. Next to a Carl’s Jr.? I’m so glad my wife suggested we try it. Excellent! The fish was fresh, and the rolls weren’t all your typical ones you see on every sushi menu.

We sat at the sushi bar, and the Shokunin were friendly and creative. I usually don’t like Uni all that much, but they created a hand roll that included Uni, and it was excellent.

We tend to dine on the early side, which worked out nicely because the restaurant is small.

We will definitely return!

Sushi Akito is one of those places where quality speaks for itself. From the moment the food arrived, you can tell how fresh the fish is and how much attention goes into every detail. The sushi is clean, well executed, and beautifully balanced, allowing the flavors of the fish to truly shine.

What stood out the most was the consistency every piece was just as good as the last. The menu offers a thoughtful selection of sushi and rolls, all prepared with precision and care. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the service makes you feel comfortable without being rushed.

If you appreciate well-crafted sushi made with high-quality ingredients, Sushi Akito is a spot you’ll want to come back to.

Great neighborhood sushi spot located on Western in a small strip next the the Carl’s Jr. The fish was very fresh and delicious, service was excellent and the casual atmosphere is perfect to relax and enjoy the outstanding sushi. The hand rolls are a great way to try a lot of flavors while the toro was amazingly rich and tasty. Nice selection of rolls but not an overwhelming menu.. The WTF and crazy salmon rolls were both really good and had distinct flavors and sauces. The yellowtail carpaccio had a nice spice and flavor and was a particular favorite. The dining room is pretty small and they do get busy at peak times and it is easy to see why with such quality sushi at very reasonable prices. Sushi Akito scores a rock solid 5 stars all around.

Checked out Sushi Akito in Rancho Palos Verdes after hearing a few people mention it. It’s tucked in a small plaza with easy parking and has a chill, local vibe. The spot’s small but comfortable, and everyone working there was friendly. I tried the Sashimi Platter, Soft Shell Crab, Akito Special Roll, and Teka Maki. Everything was solid, but the sashimi platter and soft shell crab were the standouts for me — both really fresh and flavorful. Overall, just a good, lowkey sushi spot. Fresh fish, nice service, and a relaxed place to grab quality sushi in the area.

The best sushi in South Bay!!
I recommend starting with their bonito edamame. It’s coated so well and every bite is so flavorful. The Spanish mackerel is also so good and flown in from Spain. I’m picky when it comes to uni and it’s so fresh and not super fishy.

All rolls are $16-$18 and around 8 pieces. They even have real crab rolls. my favorite is the crazy salmon with fresh salmon inside, and seared salmon with a house spicy sauce on top.

Sushi Akito is an absolute gem in RPV! We ordered the Catalina Roll, Amberjack Carpaccio, Oyster Uni Shooters, and the Chef’s Pick Omakase — every single dish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The amberjack carpaccio especially stood out with how clean and buttery it tasted.

The Rolling Fresh roll surprised me in the best way — the spinach in the middle sounds unusual, but it ended up being the perfect balance and totally worked.

It’s a smaller, cozy spot, but the servers make the experience even better. They’re so friendly, sweet, and attentive. You can really feel the care that goes into both the service and the food. Highly recommend if you’re craving quality sushi in the area!

I was told that I should try out this sushi restaurant. So I did just that, I visited Sushi Akito restaurant in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca in late August of 2024. The location is kind of hidden in a food plaza. There was plenty of parking when I went on a saturday at 5 pm. The place was quite small. The staff was very friendly. I met the owner who was behind the sushi bar counter preparing all the sushi. He was very polite and easy to talk to. His name is Kit. On this day I asked him to prepare me a chef special dish which is to provide you his 10 picks of sushi which was a variety of fish. I was pleasantly pleased with how fresh the fish was and also how much flavor everything had. To top it off I also had a few shooters, Uni and oyster. They were amazing. if you are looking for a place that has an amazing atmosphere, this is not the place. If you are looking for quality, which I am sure you want, then this is the place to tryout. I did have to wait a little while to get my food, but when you get the food it will be all worth it. Overall I would strongly recommend dining in at Sushi Akito .

I did read a review regarding this location and they did not have good things to say about it, but once I saw this customer called in a order to go. I could not take the review seriously. My response to these type of customers would be, this is not a fast food restaurant.
