Really liked that this restaurant clearly labels its allergens on the menu, such as gluten free, contains egg, etc. This made it much easier to order sushi without asking a million questions. All of the fish is fresh and delicious. The bento boxes and plates are served with a ton of food. The salmon teriyaki comes with enough salmon to have leftovers. The service is always great here— very attentive. It’s become our go-to place for sushi in the area.

Our miso soups and edamame arrived within two minutes of ordering despite Sushi Aji being at 100% seating capacity. Sushi platters followed quickly and the tuna and salmon lovers combo was one of the better bargains I’ve seen for Denver sushi with the tuna nigiri being melt in your mouth soft and the salmon fresh as well. All the rolls were great, the ginger was sharp and our server made sure we had everything we needed on a great cadence. We’ll be back!

The fish was so smooth and buttery. All of the tuna was fantastic and the toro was perfectly seared.

Everyone is saying that this place is fairly priced. My opinion is that it’s pricey. I spent $180 dollars between me and my companion because honestly It was delicious. I find that sushi is not usually great outside of the West Coast but I was not disappointed about my experience at sushi Aji. I’m a huge nigiri fan and that is probably not the way to go to get the bang for your buck as it’s priced very high. There are other specials though and everything was quality even the rice which is really important. The ambiance is clean and pleasant enough. The service is normal, the chefs nice. We didn’t really have a chance to connect with them but it’s ok. I would certainly go back but maybe try to find some hidden combo/specials or try the bentos everyone is raving about.

Absolutely love this sushi place. It’s right by my work so I feel incredibly grateful. They have a wide selection of rolls at affordable prices. It’s honestly the best place I’ve found in terms of price and quality in and outside of the Denver area.
I am obsessed with the Dynamite Roll. It is lightly deep fried with eel and cream cheese inside. On top, they drizzle eel and spicy mayo sauce and top it off with tobiko. I also love their lunch specials (pick two or pick three roll options) and their vegetarian rolls. They even have options for people who may really not like sushi or want more options… like the Kobe Beef Roll (it’s awesome and has soy paper). I also have tried their Volcano Roll and it was phenomenal.
The service is always great and everyone is so kind every time I go. It is nowhere near WholeFoods or Grocery Store sushi by any means. If you think it is, maybe you just haven’t tried enough sushi to really make that kind of statement (commenting on a previous review) because that is just ridiculous. I’ve truly never had a bad experience here and I’ve eaten at Sushi Den & Uchi Denver for context.
This place is outstanding all around.

Popped in post hockey for some delicious sushi. The staff was really friendly and served us quickly and efficiently. We tried a variety of sushi – all of which were delicious. The rolls were tasty and constructed nicely. Highly recommend

Got a tempura sweet potato roll with mango and avocado added two nights in a row. So good both times with good fresh ingredients. Also tried the veggie gyoza – also very satisfactory. Thank you!

Great sushi fairly priced.
I’ve never eaten sushi and been so thrilled with the seasoning of the rice before; that’s how I felt here.
Nothing too special about the ambiance but clean and plenty of space. We did have a little bit of hovering waiters but didn’t diminish the experience too much.

I was super impressed with this place. I’m very picky about sushi and usually go to Ronin or Sasa downtown. It’s quite amazing that this small local hole in the wall can compete with those places. The long roll was a daily special with scallops on top – unbelievable. The other rolls are half eaten and the calamari almost finished because it wasn’t until I started eating and realizing how great the food was that I decided I needed to leave a review for this place. If you live in the area and enjoy sushi, definitely support this place!!
