This restaraunt has been on my go-to list for quite a while so when opportunity presented itself today, I had high expectations.
We started off with some coffee. The coffee was watery, definitely do not recommend.
Complimentary chips for the table were pretty good. It was a nice mix and the chips were not too oily. The two sauces that came with were very mildly spiced.
We ordered a total of 4 dishes.
The tuna ceviche was nicely portioned. The pineapple was NOT prepared as described on the menu. Overall, while the fish was fresh, the sauce was too sweet and the whole dish felt like the ingredients were assembled haphazardly instead of being cohesive.
The beet salad was also assembled, not mixed. There was very little feta cheese, too much dressing, and the vinegrette was too sweet.
The black paella was a highlight. Beautifully cooked squid and octopus, though the shrimp was rubbery and tough. The squid ink rice was creamy but definitely on the salty side. The clams and mussels were well cooked but not well prepared, there was quite a bit of grit I ended up chewing through.
The chicken entree was juicy. The chicken was beautifully cooked. Meh side mashed potatoes, good but nothing to write home about. I was surprised by how mildly seasoned the dish was.
Entrees took a very long time, almost 50 minutes.
The dishes were beautifully presented, and the dinnerware was gorgeous. I wish the staff had removed the stickers off the coffee mug bottoms.

Overall, very happy to have made the trip, will not make it again.

A very laid back dining experience on a Monday night. Drinks and dessert were great! Would not recommend the duck pasta… though the pasta and sauce were decent, I just didn’t end up liking it and should have ordered the paella like everyone else! lol

The plantain chips and nuts as a starter were DELICIOUS and I LOVED the sauce and salsa they came with.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was simply divine — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite.
I highly recommend the mussels — they were outstanding! Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and served in a delicious sauce that I could enjoy again and again.
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and unforgettable food. Definitely coming back!

We keep coming to Surfish Bistro thinking we’ll try other things but can’t imagine not having the black paella once we are here!!! Absolutely love it!
Apart from that, their ceviches are excellent and we always take the chicha morada drink with our food!

10/10 would recommend this place! Such a beautiful atmosphere and the staff will make you feel at home!

I love Surfish Bistro. This is my number 1 favorite place. Been to many Peruvian and ceviche restaurants in and out of New York and honestly can say that this is the best. Every time I have friends visiting from out of town I always bring them here.

The food was okay, but not impressive! My friend ate the ceviche and said it was excellent, but everything I tried was average. The chicken and sweet potatoes were dry and didn’t resemble the photos at all. All
the dishes come with sauce and they are way too salty. Lastly, the churros were disappointing. They weren’t cooked well and were oily. There was NO crispness at all, very disappointing.

Truly delish appetizers, entrees and sangria! I popped into this modern building and restaurant for a quick bite. The little bucket of plantains, nachos and dips hit the spot. While the rest of the food took a little longer than I would have preferred, it was worth the wait. The presentation, and the flavors were exquisite. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. All around it was a great experience and definitely worth popping in again
