Surfing Monkey Root Beer Float uses Maui Brewing Company’s Island Root Beer that is brewed on the island and Maui made vanilla ice. We also offer Dole pineapple soft serve, originally created by Dole.

A trip to Maui isn’t complete without a a real Hawaiian shaved ice. And this place hit the spot.
It’s located right at the front of the market which had a great vibe, lots of awesome local artists and small shops, and plenty of people exploring and hanging out.
We came after dinner and were able to enjoy our shaved ice while listening to live music from the nearby bar.
They guy working was super helpful and very nice. He even put on fun music for the little kids in line ahead of us to enjoy while they were there.
Be sure to check out some of the specials they have with their own combination of flavors. My sister got the Blue Wave.

Came here after eating the vegan place next door — got a shaved ice for my wife and two scoops (pineapple & macadamia nut) — BLEW ME AWAY!! the pineapple was truly the best I’ve ever had. Such a fun place — not cheap but nothing on this island is – just enjoy the flavors!

The cutest little shaved ice spot I’ve ever been to! I went with the small size, but wow, it was huge–way more than I expected! The small is definitely big enough to share, so if you’re with a friend or two, definitely try ordering two instead of one. I decided to eat inside rather than outside, which turned out to be a smart choice. My ice lasted much longer than most because of it. I can only imagine if I had stepped outside in that Hawaiian heat and humidity, my shaved ice would have melted in about two seconds!
What really makes this place special is their flavors–they’re all made with real sugar cane, and there’s such a wide variety to choose from. I had the hardest time picking, but finally decided to make my own mix: tigers blood, coconut, and blue raspberry. It was the perfect combination of tropical sweetness and refreshing flavors!
Another cool thing about their shaved ice is that you get to choose up to three flavors, so make sure you take full advantage of that and experiment with different combinations. You can create your perfect flavor profile, This place is definitely a must-try for anyone looking to cool off and indulge in a sweet, refreshing treat!

I’ve had good, bad and amazing shave ice. This was on the amazing side. Closest I can compare it to on the mainland is Bahama Bucks when it comes to taste and texture. I got the Hawaiian Heaven with mango ice cream on the bottom and cream on the top. Their syrups are made with Hawaiian cane sugar.
They have vegan ice cream options made with coconut milk that are also great.

Very good! For artificial flavoring, it was yummy! I got 1/2 pineapple and 1/2 strawberry shave ice in the smallest size. My mom got a root beer float. My shave ice was HUGE for the price. I almost couldn’t finish it. The root beer was so delicious and fresh. It was made on the island, which is really cool!
