Specialties include seafood, contemporary, southern, fusion, American and international. Surfing Deer accepts reservations and walk-ins {Monday – Saturday, 4:30 – 9pm}. Closed Sunday. Reservations are highly recommended. Please call during off-season/winter months as closing hours are subject to change. Please email [email protected] or call (850) 213 4200 for parties larger than 8. We cannot guarantee that large parties will be seated next to each other or will be designated at one table. Multiple tables may be used instead. A credit card is required to book reservations for parties of 4 or more.

This is a nice restaurant with great decor and lots of seating. Really nice bar that serves some unique and beautiful drinks like the fig and the Bee. We started off with some amazing appetizers. Pics included. Salads and desserts are off the charts and entrees great and interesting. Great sauce work. The banana pudding cheesecake was my favorite dish of the night. There were 9 of us and service was handled extremely well
I only gave them 4 stars for 2 dishes. The gumbo was thick and sticky like stew with way too much okra. Not good at all and the fish entree was very bland.

Surfing Deer is an awesome restaurant in 30a! The ambience and built out of the restaurant is incredible! I ordered the grouper special and my plus one ordered the salmon and it was delicious! The staff were also very attentive to our table and so was our server. Great experience!

We hosted a private dinner for 14 guests in the back room at Surfing Deer, and it was truly a flawless experience from start to finish.
We had asked for champagne to be served as guests arrived, and everything was set beautifully. They also created an absolutely stunning charcuterie board for us that was as delicious as it was visually impressive, the perfect way to welcome everyone and set the tone for the evening.
The service throughout the night was polished, attentive, and warm. We selected a pre-fixed menu for the group, and every single course was exceptional. From the fresh, flavorful salads to the perfectly prepared entrées and decadent desserts, every guest at the table was raving about their meal.
We especially appreciated the thoughtful care given to accommodate one of our gluten-free guests,, it was handled seamlessly and with genuine attention.

The food backs it up in a big way—beautifully plated and actually tastes as good as it looks. The braised short rib was fall-apart tender with rich sauce and perfectly cooked vegetables, and the duck was spot-on juicy with crispy skin and a killer pairing underneath it.
Drinks were solid, the pace of the meal was smooth, and the whole place has a relaxed but polished vibe that fits 30A perfectly. This is a spot you plan to come back to, not a one-and-done vacation dinner.

Surfing Deer is a trendy spot with great food and a good wine list. We were happy with everything we received. Every dish has its own specific spice and flavor. They also have a nice cocktail menu to go with the appetizers. The tuna was seared and spiced portably the best out of all of the places we tried it. We did the dinner family style and I fully recommend doing it that way because there is so much to try. Service was also very attentive and friendly.

What an amazing place to eat. They are so friendly and accommodating to diners and their kids. A great place to go for casual or fine dining. Go later in the evening for a romantic and high end atmosphere. The food and service were impeccable. Price point definitely on the higher end but you can keep it economically depending on what you order. This plays out true in every restaurant. Surfing Deer is a goto for my family on each vacation.
