Disappointing Experience
I really didn’t enjoy this place. It’s overpriced, and the quality is very poor.
The staff are friendly, but in a way that feels disconnected from the food they’re serving — which is far from good. Drinks come straight from cans or machines, so calling them “cocktails” is misleading. There isn’t even a proper bartender.
The food menu looks normal at first glance, but the reality is disappointing: plastic-like vegetables, fries fried in very old oil, cold pasta, and tuna served on overly sweet, sticky rice.
For what you pay, it simply doesn’t make sense. In a world full of restaurants that offer honest, comforting food, this feels like a complete letdown.

We held an event today at The Surf Shack at 2 Bay Beach, and let me tell you—this place crushed it. From the moment I walked in (way too early, per usual ), I was greeted with warmth and kindness by Kelly, who set the tone for the day.
Carly, the manager, is an absolute rockstar. Organized, on point, and just radiating good energy. The service? Flawless. Friendly. Fast. Professional.
And then there’s Chef Joe—a straight-up wizard in the kitchen. Every dish that came out was next-level. I’m talking “people-still-talking-about-it-tomorrow” good.
This entire team made my event feel effortless. It was everything I hoped for and more. I’m beyond grateful and already counting down the days until I can host another one here.
Pro tip: If you’re thinking of planning something special—this is the spot.

I’ll keep this as short as possible. Had dinner there this past Sunday for the 1st and last time.
Pros:
-great cocktails
-atmosphere
-location
-decent menu choices
Cons:
-mediocre food – nothing stood out or was memorable
-overpriced entrees
-the water for the table, served in a plastic carafe, not only looked dirty but had tiny blue objects floating in it. Both the first time it was brought to us and the second after we asked for a new one.
-our server must’ve never ordered our first round of cocktails, considering how long we waited for them and when we finally asked him to check on them, they were suddenly ready and brought over
-we ordered 3 appetizers and but had no app plates to eat off of, and paper napkins were not provided until our entrée came out
-our server was constantly MIA – strange because it appeared he only had 4-5 tables in a small section. so we had to wait and hope he would appear so we could order another round.
I wouldn’t have bothered to leave any type of review except I think people should know what prompted me to change my mind on that:
My partner and I were splitting the check, so we gave our server both of our cards. The server came back and told me mine was declined – it was actually locked. So I unlocked my card, handed it back to him, and he came back with our receipts. I didn’t notice till 2 days later that he NEVER charged my parnter’s card, he charged both halves to my card.
Both of us called the restaurant that day (Tuesday) and left messages for a manager to call us back – WHICH NEVER HAPPENED.
So we will not be returning to or recommending this place.

First time here and definitely coming back. Food and drinks were delicious. It’s only memorial day weekend and I’m sure that this place is great for the summer. Our waiter, Tyler, was awesome; so sweet and attentive. Even the hostess was so welcoming and friendly.

I love the atmosphere here, the food is good, the view is really nice while you eat. However, the service is so sloooooooooooooowwwwwwww. Took forever to place an order, forever to receive drinks and food, and to pay- I just went up to the waiter myself and asked to checkout. There are quite a few mosquitos so best to bring repellent if staying for a while.

Awesome place, located on the bay side of TOBAY Beach. The restaurant itself is nice with a bar , tiki bar style, the service is friendly and good, the food is a little slow to come out, but worth it. We had the lobster tacos and coconut shrimp. They were both good, chased it down with a beer. Will definitely return.

Sunday late afternoon, busy with about 40 minutes waiting. Food just cooked right, those young service people trying their best for the service. We enjoyed the surrounding atmosphere. Will come again.

I never give 5 stars but what a fantastic day! The place is comfortable and happy — right on the bay. The food was fresh and delicious. (Have the Ahi Tuna wrap. OMG!) And Taylor took great care of us. We’ve been here before and we’ll be back! Again and again.
