RE-OPENING MARCH 31, 2026 A HOT DOG LIKE NO OTHER ON LBI!! At our Surf City shop, we do hot dogs Hawaiian Style – and it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before! First, we take a whole roll (no slice in it) and place it on a special metal spike that toasts and warms the inside while creating the perfect pocket. Then, we add your toppings right into the roll, and finally slide in our HUGE quarter-pound jumbo hot dog. Served vertically in a paper bag, it’s as fun to eat as it is delicious. It’s a one-of-a kind hot dog experience, only at Surf City Dog House.

A unique, yummy, hotdogs experience! The staff greeted us promptly and our order came out quickly. It was neat to see our Hawaiian Hotdog order made while we waited. All of the ingredients were delicious and fresh and not too salty. The Surf City Dog House is a wonderful addition to our community.

Great Unique Hot Dog Experience. The people working there were so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It felt like they all personal interest in the success of the restaurant. We had similar-style hot dogs in Hawaii and hadn’t found them in the states yet. I love that they have been inspired by the Hawaiian style. We enjoyed the High Tide Dog. I think there is opportunity to dial in a few things more, like the quality of hot dog, variety of sauces, and ratios of bun to dog to sauce, but they have the right idea. I hope they keep up the great work and great attitude and keep modifying things to meet the balance of Hawaiian inspiration and Northeast culture.

Visited for the first time yesterday. A bright and welcoming little place. The staff were friendly and quick in explaining the “Hawaiian” way of making a hot dog and filling my order. Owner Stacey couldn’t have been nicer. The fresh lemonade was excellent. And the hot dog was big and meaty, as one should be! The “Hawaiian” style is a nice twist, and makes eating a good dog with lots of toppings easier and much less messy. I’ll be back for more soon!

We stumbled upon Surf City Dog House by accident, and it was love at first bite for my hot dog fan husband, and even more for me realizing they do veggie dogs too! We loved the colorful fun atmosphere and the warm welcoming staff, and the hot dogs are awesome! We’ve never had Hawaiian style hot dogs before, but now it’s a new favorite!

Hello we ate here yesterday and we enjoyed our hot dogs. Just a few recommendations, the hot dogs are really tasty but I prefer a regular hot dog roll because I want to see all my condiments that’s my favorite part of my hot dog. So in the roll that it was in all the condiments were actually at the bottom of the roll which you couldn’t really taste in every bite so you got to the bottom. It was a little too much breading for me I like the classic hot dog roll. But that pineapple garlic sauce was the bomb I loved it. I think if you use the regular hot dog rolls it would be great. Good luck in your business. Also it might be nice if you put like two picnic tables out front so families could eat together instead of benches. But it was a good experience and will be back

Everyone here is extremely nice and they help you out if you have any questions. Unfortunately, this wasn’t for us. We tried the Hawaiian style which is definitely convenient if you’re trying to avoid a mess. The condiments were your typical ones, and the pineapple definitely had that out of a can flavor which is fine if you like that. It made it very sweet with nothing to really offset it even though it was supposed to have some spice. The bread was okay, I definitely recommend the classic style if you don’t want a large bread to hot dog ratio. The hot dogs are also very typical, they remind me of the ones that you can find in a 7/11 or wawa. Definitely larger though, although it’s tough to spend $10 per dog. I would say you can grill your own at home and it would likely be better, but the concept is good and certainly convenient if you’re looking for a quick snack! Probably set our expectations a bit too high and thus were disappointed.

Pretty nice place and extra dog friendly. Food is better than average and good portion size. Buy the combos and save. While there the clerk over charged the lady in front of us by accident. The patron did not realize this but the clerk felt something was not right. She rechecked and order the refunded the buyer the excessive charge. HONESTY of staff. Overall good experience. All Take out. A few benches out front of location. Easy walking distance to the beach.

I’d say “I’m at a loss for words”, yet here I am writing this review. Absolutely incredible experience. I’d happily wait an eternity just for one more taste of the homemade spicy pineapple garlic sauce. And if the High Tide Dog was the last thing I ever ate… I’d die with a smile. Thank you Surf City Dog House.
