Prior to opening Supreme Seafood Ralph and Vin both worked together and were the top chefs and driving reason behind the success of Cap’n Nicks restaurant in East Haven CT. After 11 years of making Cap’n Nicks a shoreline success Ralph and Vin decided to branch out on their own and opened Supreme Seafood in early 1989. With a combined total of 61 years in the restaurant business both Ralph and Vin have taken great pride in the success of Supreme Seafood and satisfaction in the accolades the food quality continues to receive.

Ordered takeout here because our favorite local seafood stop wasn’t available. Food was edible but not great. Fries were large, dark, overdone steak fries without a thought of salt. Scallops were seconds from being rubbery but edible. The NE style clam chowder was the meals redemption. Other than needing a bit of salt it was decent. Serving sizes were also decent, heavy on the fries which would mean more if the fries were good. With so many local options within a short driving distance I’m surprised this place is as well received as it is. The restaurant would definitely benefit from an update & cleaning. Overall the meal served its purpose in that we were no longer hungry but I certainly wouldn’t ever order here again.

This is a very small place in a strip mall but the food was absolutely incredible and the portions very generous. If you’d like fried clams, you won’t find a better place. Service was quick, and the staff was helpful and friendly.

I absolutely love this place. I have been buying seafood here for at least two decades. I’ve never want to know that time been disappointed by the food. In fact I think it’s reasonable to say it’s only gotten better. I have recommended it to everybody I know. And not one person has just agreed with me about how good the food is. Don’t let the location or the lack of a fancy restaurant deceive you. This place is great. And as a beneficial aside the people who run it are also really decent good people as well.. I sent my 97 year old father there rarely goes out to dinner. They treated him so well and made him feel so good that it made his day. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

The seafood is fresh and affordable. You can tell that the oil is changed daily and they take pride in delivering high-quality seafood. The lobster bisque is delightful. Highly recommend!

I had the Rhode Island clear clam chowder and it was absolutely delicious. I also had the deep fried soft-shell crab plate. the crab was huge and cooked perfectly. I definitely want to go back to next time I go to Connecticut.
