We’re famous for our fajitas and margaritas. Our margaritas are made with freshly squeezed lime juice, and our food is made fresh, from scratch everyday. For added flavor, all of our meats are prepared over a mesquite grill. We’re open daily at 11 am and 10am for breakfast Saturdays and Sundays. Join us for happy hour everyday from 3 to 6 pm for great drink specials!! Located in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport, it’s the closest thing to being in Mexico with out leaving town!

Went here with my husband and his friends, and I totally loved the vibes, decor, and overall look of the restaurant—it really reminded me of restaurants in New York.
Even from the parking lot, you can already smell the food. The whole area was filled with the smoky steak aroma, which instantly made me extra hungry.
When you walk in, you can see them handmaking their own tortillas, and that alone got me really excited to try the food.
We were seated in a separate room. It was a bit small, but it definitely gave off NYC vibes. The decorations were done so well—I couldn’t stop complimenting the space.
We arrived right in time for Happy Hour, where you can get a large margarita for the price of a small, which is a great deal.
As soon as we sat down, they brought out tortillas and salsa like most Mexican restaurants—but these were surprisingly much better. I believe it’s because of their fresh handmade tortillas.
What we ordered:
Superior Quesadillas – Nicely plated and came with sides (I forgot to take a picture so I don’t remember exactly what they were). It was decent, but nothing really special.
San Lucas Sizzling Fajitas – Came with skirt steak and shrimp. The shrimp was butterflied Texas-style and served with all the usual sides. The meat was good, but I didn’t like the vegetables. They were too soft and lacked that grilled, charred flavor. The pan was extremely hot, so the vegetables ended up burning and sticking to it instead.
Service:
Honestly, I didn’t like the service. The server was okay, but definitely not great. I usually love Mexican restaurants because of their warm, friendly staff, but this experience made me uncomfortable.
We felt rushed the entire time—she kept taking our plates and drinks before we were finished, and I had to ask for them back multiple times (not just once).
What really killed the mood was the shots. Even though we felt rushed, every time we ordered shots it took forever to arrive. We waited almost 20 minutes total for just two rounds of shots, which is ridiculous for something so simple. I understand it was busy, but many busy restaurants still don’t make customers wait that long. It really ruined the vibe for us.
Final thoughts:
The bill was pricey, and I knew that going in—but I had high expectations and left totally disappointed. The food was just decent, yet very overpriced. For the same amount of money, you could go to another Mexican restaurant or even a food truck and get a full feast.
I rarely complain about service—especially since I used to be a server—but this time I couldn’t overlook it.
Would I recommend it?
• Fresh tortillas & happy hour drinks: YES
• Food & service: NO
Unless you’re coming strictly for the vibes and pretty decor, I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here. There are much better places out there.

I stopped by here before heading back to my hometown. I sat at the bar I ordered an appetizer the CHIMICHANGA which was delicious. My entree was a bacon hamburger. It was good my food came out in a timely manner. The ambiance was real laid back.

Came in from out of town for a 60th birthday surprise with 40+ people. Many of us traveled from TX and AL for this event. We arrived excited and left upset and disappointed.
We were told extra chairs were coming — they never did. We clearly told our server we were a party of 6 and who was on our ticket. At no point were we told checks could only be split 4 ways. That wasn’t mentioned until it was time to pay.
We waited 1.5 HOURS just to cash out. There were 15 kids in our group — tired, crying, and ready to go. Management never came when requested. Random items were thrown onto one ticket, and my cousin ended up paying nearly $100 extra because of their mistake.
A 20% gratuity was automatically added — and it was paid. This was not about tipping. It was about poor communication and lack of organization.
We spent a significant amount of money, and what should have been a special night was handled poorly.
Do not recommend for large parties.

Grilled Redfish was ok, but I don’t like the skin left on one side. The Grilled Shrimp were butterflied but still had the shells, which was wierd.

First time coming to the location since they opened. Took a coworker out who was in town for training, and she said this location beats Baton Rouge downtown one hands down! The food was great, service was amazing. We had two of the managers come up to the table to check on us and to see them helping with setting up tables was really awesome to see. I made a reservation online and it was ready, they even called to make sure I made it to the restaurant. I’m coming back with a big party next time!

Overpriced and underdelivered. We had 2 groups of 2 and made it just in time for the lunch specials to end and happy hour to begin. Our friend had 2 margaritas, which they said were good, the food was very disappointing. The nachos were $20, the chicken sandwich came with soggy lettuce, and a single slice of tomato, the fries were hard. The quesadilla was just chicken and cheese and was mostly empty. With a name like Superior and prices like there’s I was very disappointed. Our friends who ordered margaritas spent close to $70 our bill for 1 soda, 1 quesadilla, and 1 chicken sandwich was $38, not a bad price, but the food was extremely unsatisfying. The chips were good but lacked salt, and the salsa was ok.

Jesse, one of the managers, immediately brought water when my mother started choking which showed awareness and urgency. Had an amazing first experience at Superior Grill! I ordered the enchiladas, and they were packed with flavor—every bite was a delight. My husband went for the Superior Platter, and he couldn’t stop raving about the variety and taste. Our friend had the fish, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the margaritas were absolutely amazing. The only downside was that our waiter was a bit slow and not really on top of his game. Despite that, we still had a great time and will definitely be back!

the food was not appetizing at all!! they need to do better on explaining how the food is cooked. the chicken tenders is grilled then fried which means it’s DOUBLE COOKED. not everyone likes their food DOUBLE cooked so it should be brought up when people are ordering. it also had a very weird smell to it. the burger was very very dry.. and the “queso” was not appetizing at all. this is my FIRST and LAST time here. absolutely disappointing.

Went for first time…1-9-25, Waitress was good, attentive as possible considering she was one of two with 12+ tables and a few had 4 or more peeps.
NO SWEET TEA… Mgrs don’t want to offer it.. why?? Food had the seasoning of Red Lobster… that didn’t end well for them.
Food needs snap! offering Tabasco regular, not even Garlic Tabasco or Garlic Cayenne is not an alternative.
Love the layout, seating and menu options…. But here in Lafayette… obvious to most sweet tea and food with flare is a….. well…… obvious.
Waited the long to go… probably a lot longer before we go back.
