I decided to try Super Duper Teriyaki after hearing a lot of hype about the place, but unfortunately my visit did not live up to the reputation. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and was genuinely disappointed when I opened the container. The portion size felt small for the price, and the presentation was sloppy and unappealing. It looked thrown together rather than prepared with care, which immediately lowered expectations before I even took a bite.
Taste wise, it was average at best, but the bigger issue was the overall value and experience. Teriyaki spots usually win on generous portions and solid plating, and this missed both marks for me.
Service made things worse. When I was asked whether I wanted macaroni salad or coleslaw, I asked for clarification because I could not hear clearly the first time. Instead of repeating it politely, both the front register employee and the cook responded with visible irritation and rude tone. That kind of reaction to a simple question really soured the interaction. Basic courtesy matters, especially in food service, and it was noticeably lacking here.
Between the underwhelming portion, poor presentation, and unfriendly service, this visit was a letdown from start to finish. I came in curious and left regretting the stop. I cannot recommend it based on this experience

Terrible portion size for the price basically all rice and a small scoop of meat. I got the house special and I could have the gyoza or the spring rolls as they were pork and veggie mix and they had no alternative. Also didn’t get the coleslaw in my bag or plate, the soup ran out right when I got there and they did not have any thing else and didn’t care to compensate. Overall terrible experience

My first time in here, my wife has eaten here a few times. Last time she ordered through Uber Eats and some things were missing. (Restaurant forgot some stuff). So she called and was offered a replacement next time she came in.
Today we came by, the (owner I think) definitely took care of us. Hooked us up with plenty of extras on the house. They were friendly, and the food was definitely good.
Very pleasant experience, we will definitely come back, and I’d highly recommend to others.

We went because it was recommended as a hole in the wall type of place. It for sure is a hole in the wall no nonsense kind of place. Our orders were taken quickly and they seemed very busy with take out orders. There are a few tables and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect. The food was fine. We only had chicken teriyaki so I can only speak to that. The portion was fine for the price but not special. No complaints at all. It was chicken teriyaki prepared in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price.

I ordered the spicy chicken and a side of gyoza. The gyoza were well cooked with crispy edges, serving side was good and plenty of sauce for dipping! The teriyaki was very spicy but well flavored. I ordered a 5 out of 6 levels of spiciness. Service was good and I didn’t have to wait long. Call ahead if you don’t want to wait. The phone was ringing off the hook! I forgot to get the complimentary soup. Something to try when i go back.

I was really looking forward to the teriyaki chicken with all the reviews. Unfortunately I can’t say the same. The chicken was bland and didn’t even look grilled. The texture of more like boil chicken ? Idk. My kid normally love teriyaki and this time they had a really hard time eating it. 🙁

Your typical Hole-in-the-wall cult following Korean couple owned restaurant. Don’t come here to expect quality customer service.
Food: Been here twice and ordered the #5 ~$17 (Chicken Katsu + Korean Spared Ribs entre, more expensive end item) twice; things tasted the same both times. unique Katsu sauce, nicely grilled ribs (slight dryer side), comes with two soy based sauce and packaged sweet and sour sauce. Big proportion, perfect for their Bham Western WA locals.
Customer Service: Don’t expect it, this is not a Karen friendly place and the food sells itself. They get large volume of orders and calls, and if you call just tell him what you want, and he’ll immediately hang up the phone on you. The owner sometimes stops taking order before 7pm, so make sure to go there early. Interior is ight, just go down to Fairhaven if you want a nicer view.
Tip: Know your menu items well and call ahead. Don’t be sad if the owner with broken English hangs up immediately after you order without saying an extra word. #Efficiency
Food receiving expectations: 15-25 mins wait and the owner coming outside pointing and yelling your item# at you. He somehow knows and remembers everyone’s order. They take their COVID-19 situation seriously, so be respectful and wear a mask 🙂

I had been by here on a lark during the pandemic a few years ago. There were a bunch of college age kids outside waiting and I wasn’t exactly sure what to do. I went in and was instantly greeted by an old Asian man who yelled at me to get out. I always love the hole in the wall place where horrible service is no match for the delicious food they serve. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. Ok, now what? After learning the protocol on ordering I was able to place my order and received a delicious plate of teriyaki. Only later did I realize that besides the teriyaki the katsu was the real star at this joint. Fast forward to this week and I was passing by again and decided to stop in. I was determined to get the katsu this time. My experience was very different. Friendly guy from SoCal greeted me and took my order. Complimentary miso was a nice touch. Received my food and it was delicious but I must admit that I missed the old experience. Not the best ever teriyaki but definitely better than average. Katsu was nice and crisp and the sauce is very unique. Price is a little steep, but I would still recommend it to any friend in the area. Note the tiny amount of sauce in the ramekin. I’m not sure if it was for the gyoza or the teriyaki but the amount was not worth the plastic used to contain it. C’mon man.

Got a bit hungry after spending time at Boulevard and came here.
Called in, no answer, went in person. Ordered a chicken teriyaki and a beef teriyaki, total came to a little over 26 dollars. Waited 15 minutes for my order, got it and headed out.
The shop is small, barely any sitting room when it was allowed, now none- employees literally running back and forth, counted ten people waiting for food at once, so clearly they’re busy and doing something right.
The food was good, literally just the container crammed with rice and meat. A single order definitely enough for two meals. Might come back for more if I’m in the neighborhood.
