The food and service are absolutely fantastic. The owner and chef is a lovely woman inside and out. The fried chicken (mushrooms) is seasoned to perfection. The portions are hearty. This place is a 10. It’s a small, down-home restaurant, so take-out might be necessary as seating is limited. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone who loves food for the soul. Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. I would fly to Buffalo from my home across the US to eat at Sunshine Vegan if I could, every week. If you are in Buffalo, this restaurant is a must for everyone, whether vegan or non-vegan.

So so happy to be able to finally try food I’ve never eaten before. The shrimp were delicious! Texture was very gummy but I’m not sure how real shrimp taste anyway. The special carrot tuna was probably my favorite. It was very well seasoned and the chips are homemade. The pastelito was delicious as was the cheesesteak (which I got in a wrap) . Great immitation food without directly copying the taste of the original. I can’t wait to go back and try more options! Only thing is I wish there was a nutritional menu that had the calorie count on it.

THE BEST OMG SO GOOD. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD VEGAN FOOD IT IS THIS. So far I’ve only eaten the ribs and Mac and cheese but they are incredible! I’m not one of those people that craves meat but these I will crave until I get them again! And the Mac and cheese is the best I’ve ever had!!!

It was a cold and snowy day when I stopped into Sunshine Vegan Eats. But within minutes, I felt like I was at a cookout on a beautiful summer afternoon.
I’ve been vegan for a few years, but I never would have thought to use fresh oyster mushrooms for fried “chicken.” The texture and flavor work perfectly. Brilliant!
The greens had that rich and smoky flavor with no need for pork. Stewed until meltingly tender.
Excellent macaroni and cheese, too. And their jalapeno cornbread is right out of a dream.
They went above and beyond with their banana pudding. The crumbled wafers were almost caramelized, and I think I even tasted a hint of nutmeg.
Great music playing over the speakers, too. I heard some tunes that took me back at least 20 years and made the experience even more special.
I’ll definitely be back soon. Great job, everyone!

Do yourself a favor and go here! Service was friendly, the food was brought out quickly, and it was so good! The staff were nice and appreciative of our compliments. Highly recommended it.

Visited from out of town and glad we did. I ordered the shrimp po boy, and the hubby ordered ribs. The service was kind and friendly. The food was great. Hubby said his mac was really good. He liked the rib, but not the sauce. He thought it tasted like ketchup. My po boy was amazing. It was stuffed with shrimp and the sauce was crazy good. The inside is small with just a few tables. The outside area was nice but there were too many bees and wasp so it was kind of uncomfortable. I imagine there may be a nest somewhere bc I noticed them flying into cracks and crevices. Overall, I will def return when I go to Buffalo.

If you’re thinking about it, just do it. I was in town briefly visiting my in-laws and looking for a tasty vegan meal when I found this absolute gem! I’ve traveled all over the country and tried sooooo many delicious vegan restaurants and this place sits at the top when it comes to plant based comfort food. My goodness, we were blown away by the rich flavors and enormous portions.
I have a 10 year old that is not very expressive about much in life and even she couldn’t stop raving about how amazing her brussel sprouts were.
For reference: we tried the nachos 10/10 with a fun kick of spice … we shared the brussel sprouts and my kids rated these a 15/10
We also had the “wings, the “shrimp,” “fried chik’n (mushrooms”) and the big hit of the day… THE MEATLOAF!
We contemplated bringing back an entire loaf to Texas but decided that maybe the 26hour drive home would not pair so well for transporting this delightful meal.
So for now, all I can say is please go try their food. They are remarkable folks with a beautiful talent of making amazing vegan eats.
I’ve literally never been more excited to visit Buffalo in 26 years… until now.
Thank you to all the kind folks we met that day, you are amazing, we loved you, your welcoming smiles and conversation and your delicious food. We hope to see you again soon!

Finally made it here today with my partner and her sister after wanting to check it out for years (Buffalo native that moved away) and it lived up to the hype and then some!
We got the spinach dip to start which was a super generous portion (and extra chips free of charge!!) & it was the best spinach dip I have ever had. For our mains we all shared the Snow Stinger, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and the Thai Chili Tofu Bowl & we truly could not pick a favourite as all were equally as delicious.
Aside from the amazing food, the staff were so welcoming and kind to us the moment we walked through the door, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
We will absolutely be coming back next time we are back in town visiting family, and can confidently say this is the best vegan food in all of Buffalo!

My husband and our adult son and I visited Sunshine Vegan Eats for the first time today. Our son is vegan, and he was happy to know that everything on the menu is vegan.
They have a wide selection of menu items. Someone else in the café had ordered the ribs, and they smelled wonderful.
My husband is a shrimp and grits connoisseur, and even though he’s not vegan, he said the vegan shrimp and grits were the best he’d ever had anywhere. He couldn’t even tell that the shrimp were vegan.
Our son had the mushroom-based fried chicken with mashed potatoes, collard greens, mac & cheese, and jalapeño cornbread – all vegan, all delicious – with banana pudding for dessert.
I had pancakes, bacon, scrambled tofu, and a fruit smoothie.
A lot of customers were coming and going, so clearly this is a popular spot. We enjoyed the food tremendously and will be back.
